Lila’s POV “TOMORROW,” Jacob said quietly. The word did not feel like a promise. It felt like a countdown. I stood in front of the tall mirror in my room, fingers pressed against the cool surface as if I needed something solid to keep me from drifting. Behind me, the estate stretched wide and silent, too quiet for a place that was about to host a wedding, a memorial, and a war all at once. Tomorrow. The word settled deep in my chest, heavy and unmoving.

Lady Macbeth lamented as they hurriedly jogged after the queen. "I can smell a fierce battle between the queen and the old dragon, I can foretell that this tremendous castle will get burnt tonight!” Shawn whispers in immense anticipation, as they intensely increased their paces to the dining hall.

He hated seeing me cry. He lifted his hand slowly, weakly, and I guided it to my cheek. His thumb brushed against my skin in a shaky line. “Don’t cry,” he murmured. “Not when we still have tomorrow.” Tomorrow. The word hit me deep. For so long, I had lived moment by moment, fearing that each one might be our last. But hearing him speak of tomorrow as if it belonged to us felt like the smallest miracle. I kissed his palm gently. “Then we’ll hold on to every tomorrow we can.”

Tomorrow, triumph would be mine, bitter as ashes upon my tongue. Tomorrow, I will get what I want. Tomorrow, she will fall. And Aiden would be mine.

She wasn't anything like Joanne. If Catherine was like an amarbel vine, then Joanne was like a sunflower—full of vitality and independently facing the sun on her own without having to rely on a tree. Nathan pressed his tongue against his cheek, realizing for the first time that the amarbel vine wasn't as interesting as he thought after all. He answered casually, "Yeah, no. Not anymore." Then, he hung up on her while she screamed and cursed bloody murder on the other end of the line.

Tomorrow the book. Tomorrow the world. Tonight this. Just this. Enough.

With my eyes fixed on the beautiful picture of the stars twinkling like tiny diamonds on the dark blue sky, I allowed the water to flow down easily on my body, Its warmth enveloping me in a soothing embrace. "Tomorrow," I whispered to myself, the word filled with promise and opportunity as I continued, "Tomorrow is the day I'll get what I want. I won't let you Bryan slip through my fingers again. If I want you, then I will get you."
