I, love my mom's boyfriend

I, love my mom's boyfriend

"What did you say to her?" Mom smiled sweetly at him, her expression cool and composed, then glanced at me with mock innocence. "Actually," she began, her tone dripping with false charm, "we have a little secret. So, I told her I would share it with you." My face tightened, my fists clenching at my sides. Mom was the worst. She had officially become worse than anyone else I could imagine. Dad’s expression darkened as he looked at us again. "What secret?" he asked, his tone firm.

The Last Smile She Misread

The Last Smile She Misread

You were at the concert hall, soaking up everyone's admiration. You were at a restaurant, teaching Maya about sincerity. ... I'm sorry. I don't need you anymore. *** Over the next few days, Mom dug through years of home security footage. She quit eating. Quit sleeping. Her eyes stayed bloodshot as she replayed every clip she'd once used as proof against me, still searching for the tiniest sign I'd fooled her. Anything to prove she hadn't been so horribly wrong. But every video shattered her a little more. At last, she saw the truth.

SHADOWED SALVATION

SHADOWED SALVATION

I blurted out. “What nonsense are you saying? You are not even eighteen yet, you are Seventeen.” She calmly responded, pinching my nose, “You need to quit pranking me.” I swallowed my tears, “Right, I'll just enjoy my time with you,” I muttered. “Mum,” I called and her eyes widened as a reply, “I don't care if this is real or fake… I'll stay with you.” It was a lazy afternoon, and my mom and I were dancing around the house, trying to decide what to do with ourselves just like we used to do.

When Mom Wants Me to Join Her in Death

When Mom Wants Me to Join Her in Death

With that, I pushed myself upright and shoved aside the cabinet I'd been slumped against, exposing what it had been hiding. The moment the door swung open, the calm vanished from Mom's face. She shot to her feet, and her eyes were blazing. "You bitch! How dare you!"

My Greedy Mother-in-law

My Greedy Mother-in-law

My voice was hoarse, but I enunciated my words clearly, “Throwing a tantrum won’t help. The evidence is right before you. I kept a record of every cent you transferred to me. “Amelia, be honest. Don’t you know your family’s actual financial situation? “Do you really believe all the lies your mom told, or have you been helping her trick everyone else on purpose?” Amelia avoided meeting my gaze, and her expression kept changing. In the end, she flew into a fit of rage out of humiliation. “Does it matter if my mother lied? She only did it to make you look good and make others think highly of you! “You, on the other hand, are an ungrateful brat! You turned everything into a mess and embarrassed

One Digit Short

One Digit Short

Susan reluctantly transferred me the rest of the funds, her voice stiff when she said, “There you go. You have the money. Now, get us a decent spread. Don’t keep everybody waiting.” Before I could get a word in, Summer beat me to it. “What are you doing, Mom?” She sneered at me and said out loud, “I’m sure you’ve skimmed a fortune off Mom by now. “So what if she’s short one time? Can’t you just cover the difference for once? “Are you shaming Mom in front of family because you didn’t get anything out of her?” Susan gave her a pouting look. “Don’t say such things when we have family around.”

Mom Took Me to Court for $60

Mom Took Me to Court for $60

In my first year out of college, my mother sues me over the 60 dollars a month I give her for living expenses. In court, she breaks down in tears. "She only gives me 60 dollars a month! And she makes me check in every single day before she'll hand over that day's money! "I raised her and her brother all on my own. I gave everything I had to put her through college. How can she do this to me?" Her lawyer submits printed copies of our text conversations as proof. The judge frowns as he reads through them, then passes them to me. "Defendant, are these messages authentic?" I nod calmly. "They are." The gallery erupts in whispers, people calling me ungrateful and a terrible daughter. Then,

Branded a Scam Builder by My Own Mom

Branded a Scam Builder by My Own Mom

On the day of the topping-out ceremony for the resettlement housing, my mother, Diana Knowles, insists on reporting me to the authorities for shoddy workmanship. It's all because my cousin, Marco Sanford, went to play at the construction site, stepped into the freshly set cement, and scraped his knee. "You think you're so great just because you built a couple of buildings?" Mom screams at me. "I can't just stand by and watch you put the whole town in danger just to make millions of dollars by pocketing the difference!" Marco clutches his bandage and explains quietly, "It's all my fault for climbing over the fence to play there, Aunt Diana. The construction workers even tried to stop me.

Mom Sent Me a Bill

Mom Sent Me a Bill

After I started college, Mom said she'd send me money in installments. "Lucia, you're an adult now. I want you to learn how to manage money, so I'll give you your living expenses in installments." I figured she meant monthly. Maybe weekly, worst case. Then move-in day came. Mom walked around the cafeteria, checked the prices, and sent $8 to my payment app. I stared at my phone. "Mom, did you send the wrong amount?" She smiled. "Silly girl. That's your lunch money for today. I checked already. Just get the cheapest grab-and-go meal. "From now on, ask me for money before each meal." I froze. So by installments, she didn't mean monthly. Or weekly. She meant one meal at a time. By da

My Ex-Husband Is My Mate

My Ex-Husband Is My Mate

I hug him back and then grab Vinny by the collar to force him closer so he can kiss my cheek as greeting. "We're having family afternoon," my mom responds, turning to look at us with a big smile on her face... then she starts tearing up out of absolutely nowhere, "I love you three so much." "Oh, Sky. This is getting out of hand," my dad laughs at her with an infatuated tone, but my mom dismisses him and grabs her phone to snap a picture of us. Sometimes she makes me feel like I'm six years old too, but right now I don't mind the mental break. I just pose with my brothers to make her happy.

I can not recommend this story enough. It's so good, and I absolutely adore the characters and the author's sense of humor. I literally yelled no when I got fully caught up. I haven't read a story on this app that made me laugh and cry as much as this one.

Interesting as hell. The characters are engaging, and I love how easy the dialogue flows. It feels like actual conversation. The plot is equal parts infuriating, hurtful and funny. A hell of a combo tbh. I definitely recommend giving the book a shot
