At least not now. And if anyone was to ever ask me, I believe I am perfect. But my smile... It bothers me. It is a replica of my father's smile. And everything about him I find at fault... Especially when it is found in me. The silence that had befallen us made me feel non-existent ants crawling up my body. So, I took steps forward, ready to escape the room but my arm got held back. "When I look at your smile, I don't see a donkey's smile. And trust me, I love looking at donkeys smiles. Like the one in the movie Shrek... What is its name again?"

Riley pov The smile on Kael’s face wasn’t his. That was the first thing my mind latched onto—the smallest, cruelest detail. His lips curved with perfect symmetry, no tension at the corners, no hesitation. Kael never smiled like that. Kael smiled like he was bracing for impact. Like joy was something dangerous he handled carefully. This smile was clean. Manufactured. Wrong. “Asset recovered,” he repeated, voice smooth as polished marble. “Stability restored.”

The smile of someone preparing for war. "The kind that destroys a marriage." The line fell silent. For several seconds, neither spoke. Then the person laughed. A low, knowing laugh. And Jamiah knew the next phase of her plan had officially begun.

" I'm pretty sure all I ever heard from you was that I should stop smiling at your friends, must have been because you were afraid I'd scare them off with my smile." She replied as she laughed out, trying to make the conversation light. "That's not true_although you're right about one thing." " You mean the part where I scare them off with my smile?"
