The Stripping Heiress
“Do you know? Does your family know?”
Marcus’s lips pressed together, silent.
“What happens if they scare me off, if I leave before the year is up?” My words came faster, sharper. “Do they know it all goes to charity?”
I shook my head. “Not everything is a game, Marcus.”
Something flickered in his eyes. He closed them, just for a second, then opened them again. He leaned in until his lips were nearly touching mine.
“That’s the thing, Heiress,” he whispered. “If Elosie taught me anything, it’s that everything is a game. Even this. Especially this.”
