“Maya! Are you okay?” Kael’s voice was low but frantic as he scanned the room and then darted to the window. Rowan followed, his eyes narrowing as he crouched to examine the wooden frame. “There’s something here.” He traced a jagged symbol carved deep into the glass’s wooden casing, dark and ancient-looking. I pressed my hands against my chest, trying to steady the frantic pulse beneath my skin. The mark on my wrist throbbed violently, glowing faintly as if reacting to the sigil.

ZURI POV "Please stand as we move to the next round. Vaals, Glortinon, blue. Peulo, Kea, red. Earth, Cok, yellow. Frole, Hassin, orange. Makskin, Bronkark, Shikaz, green. Please take your seats your second course will be gund bread," the male announcer says with his amplified voice and we stand up.

Mark stood in front of me, shielding me with his body. “Who are you?” Mark asked, his voice resonating with authority. The wolves paused for a moment, assessing the situation. One of them, larger and stronger, stepped forward. “We are the pack from the neighboring forest. We’re not looking for trouble, but we won’t back down if anyone obstructs our path,” the large wolf replied, its voice deep and threatening. Mark didn’t move, his eyes still locked on the enemy. “We just want to enjoy this evening. If you don’t disturb us, we won’t disturb you.”

He pressed the button on his phone and slid it into his pocket before stepping away from the door and settling down on a sectional on the opposite side of the room from where Dani was pacing, shaking his head all the while. "I knew it. I knew it. When I marked my mate the mark was maybe three quarters the size of the one on your neck. Maybe. Maybe just over half. And that was bigger than any mark I'd seen in this territory. When I saw the mark on your neck, all shiny and new I knew it had to fucking be his." Waylon laughed lightly as he said the last sentence, and Dani could tell that he was more than a little nervous.

He has a red mark on his forehead. "You?"

she whispers. “I agree,” I say as I stare at it. It is rare that a mark will show color but this one does signifying we are blessed by the moon goddess. It has two wolves – one in silver and the other black with silver tips on the male wolf’s fur. The male is slightly bigger than the female, but it is apparent that they are equals and protect one another equally.

Emma moaned, pushing her back toward the wand, the plug shifting inside her as her hips rocked. “Almost done,” Mark said, voice calm and certain. He moved the tip down the small of her back, filling in the spaces between the words, making the lettering bold and permanent-looking. The third baby kicked hard beneath her skin, right where the ink would sit, and she felt it as if the new mark was claiming that spot too. “There. Done. It looks so real now, even though it will wash off in a week or two. But the feeling… that’s forever.”
