Her head whipped toward him, brows furrowed.
He nodded. “Yes. Go. Chase it. But let’s not let your dreams cost us everything else.”
Zara’s chest rose, caught between caution and relief. “What are you saying?”
“I want us to make a deal,” he said, shifting to face her directly. “Three strikes.”
“Strikes?” she repeated, voice low.
“If you miss three important marital responsibilities—things that matter to both of us—family events, our joint business appearances, serious commitments… then we pause. We sit down and renegotiate this marriage.”
