The Alpha’s Scarred Healer
My gaze found the reflection waiting for me.
The angry redness had faded, and the swollen blisters were gone, but what remained was no less disfiguring. Thick, uneven scar tissue stretched from just below my jaw to the hollow of my throat, pale in some places, darker in others, the skin puckered and twisted where the acid had devoured it. It no longer looked like a fresh wound.
It was permanent.
My fingertips traced the raised ridges with hesitant care. It no longer stung beneath my touch, yet I could still remember the fire that had carved it into me.
