The Red Wedding
The shower curtain lay half hanging on the shower hook, plastic and slashed as though someone grabbed it to support themselves.
The faucet continuously poured water into a bathtub, stabbing the silence in the atmosphere. In that bathtub was Mirabel, and she was drowning in the water.
“Help me, please.” Large tears rolled down her eyes and into the water.
My hands were sweaty. Deep down inside, I was afraid to move. I continued to stare at Mirabel, her tears pushing me closer and closer to insanity.
“Elena!”
I snapped out of whatever daze I was in and went over to the bathtub before pulling her out. Her body was dripping wet, and the worst part was that she couldn’t walk.
