The den’s little apartment only had a tiny shower that she had to step out of turning around in. Because the bathroom Melody used to bathe David in was drying out from David’s turning it into a water park, Melody had to use the master bathroom to bathe. With the huge bath filled, Melody laid a towel on the towel warmer, her robe hung behind the door, and a bath tray across the tub. She turned on the jets and slid into the water. She soon forgot her dinner when her body responded to the jets. This was heaven as the warm bubbles relaxed her body. She pushed the tray away from her and lay back, letting her mind concentrate on the flow of the warm water over her body.

“You jumped into the pool half naked with that strange guy. You have no room to judge me.” “I was tossed into the pool,” she corrected me, “and I’m not judging. I’m just surprised.” “As am I,” I said. “By me? Or by you?” she asked. “Both,” I said as I laid back and rested my head against the cool porcelain of the ancient claw foot tub. “Why is everyone in an uproar over Melanie? She’s probably off with one of the male guests doing the same thing Lance and I were doing. Or, maybe she’s off with a woman. Did you take a head count?”

Though she was still biting up inside, it was a little better than before. “It's still so hot inside” she moaned as she slid down in the bathtub, intent on making sure the water covered her head.

The shower curtain lay half hanging on the shower hook, plastic and slashed as though someone grabbed it to support themselves. The faucet continuously poured water into a bathtub, stabbing the silence in the atmosphere. In that bathtub was Mirabel, and she was drowning in the water. “Help me, please.” Large tears rolled down her eyes and into the water. My hands were sweaty. Deep down inside, I was afraid to move. I continued to stare at Mirabel, her tears pushing me closer and closer to insanity. “Elena!” I snapped out of whatever daze I was in and went over to the bathtub before pulling her out. Her body was dripping wet, and the worst part was that she couldn’t walk.

Aeliana's POV The bathtub is enormous. Like, ridiculously enormous. It's carved from what looks like a single piece of black stone, deep enough that the water comes up to my chest when I sink into it. Elena keeps adding ice like actual ice, until my teeth are chattering and my skin has gone from feverish to merely warm. "Better?" she asks, settling into a chair beside the tub with a cup of something that smells like mint and lavender. "Manageable," I replied while leaning back comfortably against the stone, grateful for the relief even as my body protests the cold. "Is this really necessary?"

“Come on.” He follows the sound of her voice like a beacon. He doesn’t even notice that she’s leading him all the way to the bathroom downstairs. Melissa makes Andrew sit in the tub, and without warning, she turns the cold water on. The cold water hits Andrew like a slap. Suddenly all his nerves are on fire. He yelps, backing away from the water but he just slips back in. Melissa puts the drain cover on, and soon enough, the tub is starting to get filled up.

The bed lay untouched, and Melody's clothes were scattered on the cream rug, with no signs of her. I slowly closed the door and stepped further into the room. My eyes flitted to the closed bathroom door, and I took off toward it. I may have braced my mind for anything, but what I did not expect to find was a bathtub filled with water and ice cubes, and Melody's head protruding at the end of the tub. "Jesus. Mel!" I leaped forward before pulling. Her body out of the freezing torture, then held her against me. A sudden wave of tension rippled up my arms before slipping pain exploded in my joints. The water was fuckin' freezing.

"Just upstairs and down the hall to the right. It's the fourth door, the one with a little flower petal carved above it." Elena followed the servant's directions. The bathroom had a giant bathtub—it was more like the size of a swimming pool. All around its lip were a dozen different faucets and buttons and bath products in designer bottles. Already, the tub was filled with hot water and some sweet smelling lotions. Elena eagerly slipped out of her clothes and stepped inside. As she was beginning to get settled, Massimo rose from the water. The two locked eyes with each other, each of them completely naked.
