And suddenly, they see a shortcut, a shorter route which would release them from the suffering they were subject to, and they go for it. ‘While executing the shortcut, some of them fumble,’ continued the inspector. ‘Why? Simple ... they fumble because they are amateurs! Some are so overwhelmed by their success, they end up doing crazy things. Husband murders wife but wants to kiss her one last time allowing the servant to spot him. Son murders father, and instead of running away, he starts looking for his father’s pen. Why? He wants to have a souvenir of the bad times. His sister walks in, and then he has no place to hide. These actions cannot be explained, Navpreet,’ said the inspector gloo

His fingers shook as he swept a cold smile across the crowd. “The memory decoder is a new product. Data misalignment is normal. Maybe Finn altered the memories before he died to drag his wife down with him. After all, he’s a murderer who even dared to kill his wife's parents!” A team member burst in, face ashen, shouting, “Chief! Another murder just happened in the south district! The victim was carved up and had bones severed—the method is exactly the same!” Linda struggled to her feet. She looked at me slumped in the chair, long devoid of life, her whole body shaking.

“Maybe I am.” Serah didn’t rush me. “Tell me about that. What happens when you remember the murder?” Everything in me tightened. “I see his face,” I whispered. “Every damn detail. The blood on the chapel floor. The noise of the prison. The fact that no one but me knew the reason one man was killed and the other committed suicide. The fact that I feel no remorse about Malik's death to be specific.”

2 seconds slow. Before, this memory was a dark room in his mind, locked and shuttered. Now, he opened the door. He made himself feel the weight of the gun, the smell of cordite and monsoon rain, the way the target's eyes had widened, not with fear, but with surprise. He wrote it down, every cold, brutal detail. And then he wrote Park's response. The clinical analysis. The missing concern. He wasn't just writing an indictment of Park. He was writing the biography of the man he had become under Park's hand. And in writing it, he was taking ownership of that man, flaws and fury and all.

“You don’t understand.” “Then help me understand,” he demanded, voice strained and low. “Why are you so scared of that bastard, Millie? What’s he got over you?” Her chest heaved as she fought to contain herself, but the desperation in his gaze finally broke through her walls. With a choked sob, she blurted out, “Because I’m a murderer! I killed a man, and Francis has a video recording of it!” *** AUTHOR'S NOTE Thank you so much for reading. I really hope next chapters have Karen's evil deeds coming out and her going to prison for having Lassa drugged and raped! Also For Kris to see his family for the scum they are plus for him to die of regret for all the hurt, pain he caused Lassa and for having sex, marriage and child with Karen.

The Werewolf's Memory Trial

The Werewolf's Memory Trial

Aetheriaan echo of an alpha's crueltybetrayed by my pack - wolfless hybrids escapebetrayed and claimed by the lycan kingthe alpha who watched in silence
"Everyone, there is something deeply wrong here. The Alpha's character is beyond reproach. If he had truly done this, he could not have remained entirely unaware..." "But he just admitted he can't remember!" "Does not remembering make him guilty? Then what is the point of evidence!" A voice shouted back from the crowd. The two factions argued fiercely, and the area around the altar descended into absolute pandemonium. Through the blinding agony, I barely managed to pry my eyes open. Watching Silas kneeling there, my heart was consumed by nothing but a heavy, dull ache. Seven years ago, when I watched Echo get snatched and murdered, the killer's scent and face were burned deeply into my mind.

I grabbed Linda's head and forced her to face me as I screamed at her almost hysterically. "Tell me! How did my parents really die?!" A deafening crash sounded outside as police officers broke through the door. They approached Linda and showed their badges. "We've found evidence linking you to a murder committed many years ago. You need to come with us and cooperate with the investigation." Linda trembled so fiercely that she could not speak. Another officer approached Jenny. "Ms. Jenny Moore, the weight-loss biotechnology company registered under your name is suspected of illegally harvesting fat cells. You'll need to come with us as well."

I said, closing the door behind me. "I could not stop reading it. Every line is a knife." He looked up, and his eyes were red. "I have been sitting here all night trying to remember Richard Miller. Trying to remember his face. I could not. I destroyed a man so completely that I cannot even remember what he looked like." I sat down in the chair across from him. "Tell me what happened. All of it. No omissions. No justifications. I want to know exactly what you did."

“I didn’t expect you to be the killer. It wasn’t enough that you killed your parents-in-law. Why did you have to kill my mother too?” I looked at the three of them. They all had the same reaction. I froze for a moment. How was that possible? A mirror was just a mirror. It showed whoever stood in front of it. How could it show my face no matter who looked into it? But their grief did not look fake. What was so strange about that mirror? How could it make my wife, my trainee, and my neighbor all believe I was the killer? “I didn’t kill your mother. It wasn’t me.”

the letter read. “I spent four hours today arguing with a man who smelled like old goat cheese and gunpowder. I found myself wondering if you were still reading about the Medicis, or if you’d moved on to something less bloody. I found a bookstore in a small village today. It was tucked between a bakery and a butcher shop. I saw a first edition of 'The Shining' and thought of you. Stay in the sun, Little Bird.” I laughed again, a sound that I had not genuinely made in a while .
