Before love Lies
I didn’t look back.
The plane waited inside like a ghost pulled from another life—small, matte, unmarked. I hauled the door open, shoved Michelle inside, and climbed in after her.
“Sam,” I said, hands flying across the controls, “start-up. Now.”
“Engines primed,” Sam replied instantly. “Manual ignition enabled.”
The prop roared to life just as gunfire cracked against the hangar wall. Metal rang. Glass shattered. Michelle gasped, gripping the seat, but she didn’t scream.
