I found Aurora, her body trembling with the force of the magic she was holding back, her hands raised, glowing with gold energy. Her eyes were wild, her mouth tight with the effort.
“These things are getting stronger,” she shouted, her voice sharp with desperation. “I can’t hold them much longer, Gabriel! They’ve broken through the pack members —most of them have already been bitten.” She paused, her breath heavy, and I saw the frustration and fear in her eyes. “I’m sure as hell they’ve infected them!”
