Modern Classic Novel Novels & Stories

There's still long hours till morning. Checking the book in his hand, he discovered it to be a novel. 'The Red and the Black' by Stendhal. After checking the description of the book, he believed it wouldn't be bad to give it a try although he is not fond of reading novels. Leo prefer reading normal books, it doesn't matter which type it is as long as there are not romance books. Most of the romance books he read in the past are rather cliche, untrue and misleading because such love in books doesn't exist in this modern day society.

She adores this book! -You have such an elegant taste, Ma'am! The woman laughed at the comment. She found her spontaneousness brave and cute: - Well thank you, young lady. You are fluttering me with those compliments. - Oh I'm not! you deserve it. Nowadays, not many people are interested in classics. - I would say that not many are interested in detective fiction. Because I observe many young women interested in classic romances. So, are you one of them? - I used to read romantic novels when I was younger. Now, only mysteries and murders are thrilling me.

I whisper not wanting to disturb other people in the store "Jane Austin again!" Lexi laughs. "look she kinda ruled the classics era, you know," I say with a shrug. I take a look at the books Lexi was caressing a minute back." any good read in the modern romance?" I point at the books assembled in the rack right in front of her. "oh yeah, I am a big collen hover fan. I mean verity and ugly love are my favorites of all," she reaches for a book and hands it over to me.

I focused my attention back on the novel and leaned back on the couch to make myself comfortable. As I kept on reading about Rebecca’s innocence in her early days of marriage I couldn’t help but feel bad about her. She really did love her husband. I remember reading about all the criticism the writer once faced when she wrote this book. Many people pointed out Rebecca as a weak naïve stupid girl whereas in reality she was only blindly devoted to Maxim. I often refrained from reading classic English literature. Most of them were too depressing for my taste and already depressed self. That’s why I loved modern romance books. They were more interesting and focused on reality more.

Master Graden had a collection of poetry books in his home library and she had read them during her free time. The poem was titled, "A Red, Red Rose" composed by Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns. It described the poet's deep love for his beloved and promised that his love would last longer than human life and even the planet itself, remaining fresh and constant forever. The words were so moving and Melissa felt her heart warmed instantly.

Just past the first turn, she realised there was no house, no village in front of her, only a long stretch of whiteness bordered by snow-powdered hedges without a telltale rise in smoke in the distance. She didn't dare look up again for a long while. Time lost all meaning as she walked onward, her cheeks stinging, then without feeling, as hints of eventide crept in behind the melancholy December sky. It was then that Betty murmured an almost forgotten prayer from her childhood……...a little something to her guardian Angel begging an entree to paradise. ………………………….. She awoke stretching contentedly. Staring up at the unfamiliar ceiling, it took her a few moments to determine where she was, but

Emma said, walking deep into the living room. "Thanks." She walked to a set of shelves on the far side of the room, running her fingers over the spines of his books. A lot of them were classics, novels by Dickens, Voltaire, Dumas, Melville, and Hemingway. She smiled when her fingers ran over the spine of not one, but three copies of Mitchell's Gone with the Wind. There were modern novels, too, including Stephen King and Sidney Sheldon, but they didn't look as well read as some of the others.

“I’m looking for some books for my fiancée, but I’m not sure what she likes to read.” The sales assistant tilted her head thoughtfully. “Well, we have a wide variety. Perhaps I can suggest some classic novels? They’re always a safe choice.” Jack nodded, feeling a little more confident. “That sounds like a good idea. Can you show me some?” The sales assistant led Jack to a shelf filled with novels from different eras and styles. “Here are some classics,” she said, picking up a volume. “This is ‘Pride and Prejudice’ by Jane Austen. It’s a love story that many women adore.”

He was Rosalind's brother and quite welcome here. "Well then, come sit by this fire. I just finished my novel and was planning to retire soon. I'd be happy to lend it to youif you enjoy novels, that is." She returned to her chair and picked up her book, then came back and placed it in his hands. "It's one of my favorites." He stared at the title. "Lady Jade's Wild Lord? Thank you." It was an L. R. Gloucester novel, a torrid Gothic novel, and he was staring at it with a reverent expression that tugged at her heart. Like a man who hadn't held a book in his hands in years.
