Pain exploded across my scalp as I was yanked backward. I screamed. “Wrong direction,” Marcus said coldly. Tears burned my eyes—but I didn’t stop fighting. I kicked back wildly, connecting with his knee. He grunted— Loosened— Just enough. I twisted again, slipping from his grip and stumbling forward— Right into someone. Strong arms caught me. For half a second— Panic surged— Then— “Easy.” Dante. Relief hit so hard it almost dropped me. He steadied me quickly, pushing me behind him in one smooth motion.

“That I’ll lose you. That I’ll go too far trying to protect this pack, and in doing it… I’ll destroy the one person who ever stood beside me.” Kael cupped her face, his voice low. “You’re not alone, Aria. No matter how dark it gets, I’ll walk through it with you.” A tear slipped down her cheek. “Even if I become something monstrous?” He kissed her softly. “You already have… and I still love you.” The Midnight warriors rode like shadows, their armor dark and silver, blades strapped to their backs. At their front, Aria rode a black mare, the moon-dagger at her side.

Its fingers gripped the edge of the sky. The world shook. Buildings collapsed. People screamed. Maria stumbled outside just in time to see it. “It’s coming through!” she yelled. Morrow rose slowly from the rooftop, bleeding light. Her face was no longer unsure. It was determined. She flew straight toward the creature’s giant eye. Helios joined her, flames burning brighter than ever. Orion summoned the entire ocean behind him. All three attacked at once. Fire. Water. Light. They struck the creature together. The eye flared angrily.

The Monster and the Flower. After he nodded, I began delivering the story, "Arden, the name of the snake dragon who is our novel's male lead. After conquering those nations, he will turn the population into slaves and murder all who oppose him.

“Haha!” Monster suddenly roared with laughter. His voice was deep and sonorous. Jenson and Baby Robbie's complexion changed abruptly. Baby Robbie said, “Where did you learn this move from? It’s useless!” Jenson replied, “The moves aren’t useless, we are.” Monster broke free of the clutch of the silver needles and got up slowly. He flipped open a computer screen with the palm of his hand and revealed a revolver in it. Jenson and Baby Robbie exchanged glances with each other. Baby Robbie said, "It's over, we’re about to die.”

I managed to stay standing as I opened up the Monster GO app on my phone. Sure enough, there was a Monster nearby. It was named “I’m Sorry Alicia.” I held my phone up to see the digital Monster standing on the chess table. It was drawn in the style of the other monsters, but it was obviously based on Jacob and me. Technically, it was two monsters, one male with blue fur and the other female with beautiful curly hair. Their hands were entwined, making them a single creature. Underneath, the information bar said they were lovers that were meant to be together. Separating them caused great harm.

He commanded and I nodded in assurance. Alpha Mobali and the supremes all shifted halfway as they fought off the monster, throwing punches at him. Changing back to human form, Prince Aidan, Beta Dwayne and Delta Kenan all brought out silver chains, swiftly locking it onto the monster's arms and legs then pulling it so hard that the monster growled loudly. Alpha Mobali unsheathed his sword, scraping it onto the floor before lashing the Monster right onto the chest. The Monster began to change back and who I saw broke my heart to pieces.

They were warriors from Fire Moon Pack. “WELL?! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!” Miles snapped at me. “It’s Fire Moon,” I rasped, feeling Rome’s dread. “It’s Chloe’s ex-pack. There’s something freaky going on.” How did I explain that monster to him? I didn’t have time to explain. Cindy saw us, running right in our direction. That caused the monster to look our way. “That’s him!” Rodger yelled against the racing wind. “That’s Cameron! It has to be!”

I looked at Sienna. She looked terrified. I looked back at Raven. "You didn't?" Raven hesitated. Just slightly. Enough. I stepped closer. "You know what your problem is?" Raven stayed quiet. "You think monsters look a certain way." The room was silent. I could hear Sienna breathing. I looked directly into Raven's eyes. "You want me to be angry." Raven's hand tightened around her phone. "You want me to confess." I smiled. "But you don't understand something."
