WINTER POV

They wouldn't leave my room.

Dante sat on my bed like he owned it. Kai blocked my door. Luca checked every window lock like Marcus might appear any second.

"Tell us everything about Marcus Shaw." Dante's voice left no room for argument.

"There's nothing to tell."

"Lying won't work, Winter." Kai crossed his arms. "We can stay here all night."

My phone buzzed in Dante's hand and jis jaw clenched as he read the screen. "Four more messages. All threats."

"Just block him."

"He'll get a new number." Luca turned from the window. "Men like him don't stop until someone makes them."

I wrapped my arms around myself. My whole body felt cold. "I don't want you involved."

"Too late." Dante stood and walked toward me. "He found you in one day. He knows where you sleep so start talking or I'll find him myself and you won't like what happens."

I pressed against the wall and tried to breathe. "What do you want to know?"

"Everything." Luca's voice was gentle but his eyes were hard.

My throat felt tight. "I met Marcus when I was seventeen. He was twenty-nine. I thought he was perfect."

"And then?" Dante moved closer.

"Then he changed." My voice cracked. "Little things first. He didn't like when I talked to guys. He needed to know where I was every second. He bought me a new phone and said mine was broken."

The room felt smaller. All three of them were staring at me and I couldn't breathe right.

"What else?" Kai's voice was softer than I'd ever heard it.

"He started locking me inside his apartment." The words hurt coming out. "First for hours then days. He said it was to protect me but really it was to keep me trapped. He put cameras everywhere and tracked everything then chose my clothes and my food and who I could talk to."

"For how long?" Luca asked quietly.

"Two years." My voice broke completely. "I lived like that for two years."

Dante's hand touched my face and I flinched before I could stop myself and he froze. "Did he hit you?"

I couldn't answer but tears were running down my face now and that was answer enough.

Something dark and violent crossed Dante's face. "How did you escape?"

"He went on a trip and forgot to lock the bathroom window. I climbed out with nothing. No money. No clothes. I just ran." I was shaking now and I couldn't stop. "I stayed in shelters until Mom met Richard. I thought I was finally safe."

"You are safe." Dante's thumb wiped away my tears. "Because he's never getting near you again."

"You can't promise that."

"Watch me." He stepped back and his whole body changed. The gentle moment was gone and now he looked deadly. "Kai, I need everything on Marcus Shaw. Where he lives, where he works, everything."

"Give me twenty minutes." Kai was already on his phone.

"Luca, upgrade all security. I want cameras on every inch of this property."

"Already calling our team." Luca had his phone to his ear.

I stared at them. "What are you going to do?"

"Make sure he never bothers you again," Dante said simply.

"He's dangerous. He'll hurt you."

Kai laughed and it wasn't nice. "Baby, we're worse."

My phone kept buzzing in Dante's hand over and over. Marcus was spiraling and when he spiraled, people got hurt.

"I found him." Kai looked up twenty minutes later. "Marcus Shaw, thirty-one, CEO of Shaw Industries. Penthouse downtown and get this, three restraining orders filed against him by ex-girlfriends. All dropped after he paid them off."

My stomach turned. "There were others?"

"You weren't the first." Luca's voice was gentle. "But you'll be the last person he ever hurts."

"What does that mean?"

"It means we're going to have a conversation with Marcus." Dante grabbed his jacket. "Tonight."

"No." I grabbed his arm without thinking. "Please don't. I don't want anyone hurt because of me."

Dante looked down at my hand on his arm. When his eyes met mine, they were softer. "Winter, you think we're doing this just for you?"

"Aren't you?"

"We're doing this because you're ours now whether you accept it or not and nobody threatens what's ours." His hand covered mine. "But we're also doing this because men like Marcus don't stop. If we don't end this now, he'll keep coming. Is that what you want?"

"No," I whispered.

"Then trust us to handle it."

"How?"

Kai's smile was all teeth. "However we need to."

"We won't kill him if that's what you're worried about," Luca added. "But he will understand very clearly that you're off limits."

My phone buzzed again and then again almost five more times in a row.

Dante looked at the screen and his face went dark. "He just sent your location to himself. He's planning something."

Fear shot through me. "When?"

"Soon." Dante's voice was ice. "Which is why we're handling this now. Kai, Luca, let's go."

"Wait." My voice came out small. "What if he hurts you? What if something goes wrong?"

Dante turned back and his hand cupped my face. "We'll be fine, stay in this room and lock the door. Don't open it for anyone except us."

"I'm scared."

"Good. That means you're smart." He kissed my forehead and it felt protective and possessive at the same time. "We'll be back soon and when we come back, Marcus Shaw won't be a problem anymore."

I watched all three of them walk out. Kai cracked his knuckles. Luca's sweet face looked cold. Dante moved like a man going to war.

I locked my door and sat on my bed with my knees pulled to my chest.

I'd just set three wolves on Marcus and part of me hoped they destroyed him.

WINTER POVThe silence felt wrong. Not peaceful. Not calm.Wrong.I sat on my bed, staring at the door like it might open on its own. The house was still secured—guards outside, cameras, everything in place. But Marcus had gotten in before. And now…Now he was angry.I checked my phone again.Nothing.No new messages. That somehow made it worse.Too quiet.Too still. My leg bounced nervously as I tried to focus on anything else. A book. My thoughts. Breathing. It didn’t work.Because in the back of my mind, one thing kept repeating—He’s watching.A soft sound echoed down the hallway. My entire body froze.Footsteps.Slow.Measured.Not rushed. Not panicked.Deliberate.My heart slammed against my ribs.Security? It had to be.Right?I stood slowly, moving toward the door.“Hello?” I called out.No answer. The footsteps stopped. The silence that followed was suffocating.Every instinct in my body screamed at me to lock the door.To hide.To stay still. But something else—Something ne

WINTER POVSleep didn’t come easy.Even when my body was exhausted… my mind wouldn’t shut off.Marcus’s message. My reply.Dante’s voice. We dismantle him.The words replayed over and over until sometime before dawn, I must’ve drifted off—because when I opened my eyes again, sunlight was already creeping through the curtains. And voices…Low.Focused.Dangerous.I sat up slowly. My body ached from yesterday’s training, from the fight, from everything. But underneath that ache… there was something else.Readiness.I stepped out of my room. The hallway was quiet, but the voices were clearer now—coming from downstairs.I followed them. The living room had been transformed overnight.Tables covered in laptops.Screens lit with maps.Camera feeds.Names.Photos.It looked less like a home… and more like a command center. And in the middle of it—Dante.Kai.Luca.They didn’t notice me at first.Dante stood over one of the tables, sleeves rolled up again, jaw tight as he studied something o

WINTER POVThe room felt colder after I showed them the message. Not physically.Something else.Something dangerous.Dante didn’t speak right away.He just stood there, staring at my phone like he could see Marcus through the screen. His jaw was tight, his shoulders rigid—every inch of him coiled like a man holding back violence by sheer force.Kai wasn’t even trying to hold it back.“That’s it,” he said, pacing once before dragging a hand through his hair. “I’m done playing defense. We find him. Tonight.”Luca was quieter.Which somehow made it worse.“He’s escalating faster now,” he said, eyes still on the photo. “He’s not just watching anymore. He’s documenting. That’s a shift.”“A shift to what?” I asked, my voice barely steady.Luca looked at me.“To ownership again.”My stomach twisted.Dante finally moved. He handed the phone back to me—but his fingers brushed mine for a second longer than necessary.Grounding.Or maybe claiming.“Sit,” he said.I hesitated. Then… I did. This

WINTER POVMy hands were still shaking when we got back. Not from fear. From adrenaline. From the way my body hadn’t frozen this time. From the fact that I’d actually fought back. The house looked worse in daylight. Broken door. Cracked walls. Security moving in and out like shadows. The air still carried that sharp, metallic edge of violence. But something inside me felt… different.Awake.“You’re bleeding.”Kai’s voice cut through my thoughts.I blinked. “What?”He stepped closer without asking, his fingers catching my wrist before I could pull away. His touch was warm. Firm. Careful in a way that didn’t match the way he fought.“There,” he said, tilting my arm slightly.A thin line of red trailed along my skin where the man had grabbed me.I hadn’t even noticed.“It’s nothing,” I said.Kai didn’t let go.“It’s not nothing,” he murmured. “It’s a reminder.”“Of what?”His eyes lifted to mine.“That next time, you don’t let them get that close.”My breath hitched slightly.Something a

WINTER POVThe air outside felt different.Heavier.Like something was waiting.I stepped out onto the front steps slowly, my eyes immediately going to the street beyond the gates. The broken door behind us had been temporarily sealed, but the damage still lingered—splintered wood, cracked marble, the faint smell of gunpowder.A reminder.Marcus had been here. And he wasn’t done.“Stay close,” Dante said, his voice low behind me.I didn’t argue this time.Kai moved ahead of us, already scanning the perimeter like he was hunting something. Luca stayed near me, not touching—but close enough that I could feel his presence like a second shadow.“Where?” I asked quietly.Luca nodded toward the long driveway that curved out toward the main road. “Two streets down. Security tracked the vehicle from the cameras before Marcus entered.”“So they were watching,” I said.“Yeah,” Kai muttered. “And they’re still watching.”That sent a chill down my spine. We reached the gates. Two black SUVs idled

WINTER POVThe house didn’t feel like a house anymore. It felt like a war zone.Men in black uniforms moved through every room, speaking into radios, checking windows, securing doors. The shattered front entrance was being boarded up, wood slamming into place with sharp, echoing cracks.Every sound made my body flinch.I stood in the middle of the living room, arms wrapped tightly around myself, trying to breathe through the adrenaline still flooding my veins.Marcus had been here. He’d stood exactly where I was standing. He’d looked at me like—“Winter.”Dante’s voice cut through my thoughts. Calm. Controlled. But underneath it… something darker.I turned. He stood a few feet away, jacket off now, sleeves rolled up, a faint bruise forming along his ribs where Marcus had hit him. Luca was speaking quietly to one of the security men near the door, while Kai leaned against the wall, jaw tight, eyes still burning with leftover violence. They were all watching me.Not like prey.Like some
