I thought with a scornful look on my face. "I can't wait to control their feeble mind," Kendra, my dragon, said with an excited look. "For making fun of how I looked." This war had started years ago when I first accidentally found a book titled the first dragons. And then someone helped me to know more about the first dragons, and their history. Everything started with that first book. The book was buried deep in the depth of a library, and that was the only print, I had found out later. The fascination became obsession and the obsession became need.

She isn’t aware of how much the Dragon King must have paid for her, but Sabrina is certain that even without money, the Madam would have gladly handed her over to him. The Dragon King took an interest in a girl from my brothel. The Madam would no doubt boast to anyone who cared to listen. To her, it was an honor. To Sabrina, it was the greatest shame and betrayal. Being sold as a common whore—she felt it would have been better if she had died. “The Dragon King is very powerful. Although there are other women under him, as long as you do your best, he might make you his main consort. You won’t lack a thing,” the Madam says, as if to comfort her.

Sindre had never witnessed the two this much at odds with one another. Sixten, an elegant grey dragon, worked as a representative of the dragons with magical affinities within the kingdom. Those with magical affinities often found themselves with a higher status than those without. For they were considered the ones that were most loved by the goddess Alira. Being a holder of an affinity, Sixten is one who upholds prejudice against those without. It was his firm belief that dragons who have no more than an element type are beneath those with more powerful magic. If Alira did not love those dragons enough to bestow an affinity unto them, then why should he.

Though she was powerful, she was also lonely and jealous; many of the other gods had created their own races to live on earth, such as the fae and the elves. Alira wanted the creation of her own. The young dragon princess decided to throw a little ball for her harem to spend the time. It was a game she used to enjoy when she was back at Dragons. She and her young maids dressed into different characters, and murmured sweet nothing to each other while dancing. Tonight, she picked out a long crimson dress that resembled the only female dragon King in Dragon history, the Fire Dragon. And she was sitting in her big luxurious armchair, watching, enjoying all those beautiful dances of her 12 gorgeous dragon maids. It was after 11 o’clock, when the thunder was blasting, the rain was crying and the wind was howling, the door of the mansion was pushed open.

Rose’s POV With nothing to do, I balanced on the bed, legs crossed like the monks in the temple, and resumed my reading of the strange book titled The Girl the Dragon Spared. Earlier in the book, I had read about a little girl named Pearl who was thrown into a dragon’s den as food by a wicked king who had purchased her from her poor parents. It had become something like a custom—the king offering little children to the dragon in exchange for it not reducing his city and people to ash with its fire. But in Pearl’s case, instead of devouring her, the dragon took her in, treated her like her own child, and spared her life.

The woman named Talia said. “Zane. Come here...” Asteria extended her hand and laced her fingers with mine. “This is Talia, my cousin. She is the Amethyst princess and Arman´s sister. Adam, her mate, also known as the Emerald Dragon, the King of the Southern Lands, and Azul, their daughter, the Sapphire Dragon. All of them blessed dragons.” Asteria said, and I nodded. I could feel the power that each one radiated, and I could feel the pride of all the kings present. The two golden dragons placed their plans on a rock, and suddenly, the rock dissolved into thin air. Everyone stepped in, and I silently followed the group.
