The book was full of dust when I first touched it, looking at it seemed just ordinary, but there was hidden magic in it. I have discovered many incredible things. Beauty In Immortality. “I think you’d be prettier if you didn’t hide your face behind a book.” I placed the book on my thigh and stared at Azrael who had a gentle smile on his face before he moved closer. “What about your partner?” Azrael asked as I shook my head. “What’s the name of the book you’re reading?” Azrael asked as I stared at the book. “Dreams and Nightmares by Sidney Raul.” I replied. “What’s it about?” Azrael asked.

There was something beneath the surface, an invisible pull, the kind that didn’t come from coincidence. “Do you work around here?” I asked, trying to sound casual. He nodded. “At the bookstore two blocks down.” A bookstore. I didn’t know why that struck me as right, but it did. I extended my hand before I could overthink it. “I’m Dream.” He blinked at the name, as if it echoed somewhere inside him. He hesitated, then reached out and shook my hand. “Gloss.” The moment our hands touched, something electric ran through me. Not a spark, not a shock, more like recognition. Like two broken pieces clicking back into place after years of searching.

The book was warm against my hand, as if it were growing hot or getting cold. But then, my eyes widened in shock as I recognised it. I gasped and dropped it to the ground. “This—it was only a dream. It was—” But it wasn’t. It was here. Heavy and solid, as real as the floor beneath my feet. The book from my dream. The burning book in my hand that the cloaked person wanted to get from me. Alexander’s growl deepened. He dragged himself upright, but he didn’t move closer. His eyes burned holes into me, into the book. “Where the hell did you get that? Why were you holding it in your sleep? Is this your freaking way of payback?”
