My Next Reading Novels & Stories

butterflies in my stomach I avert my eyes. When I turn to Carla, I see she’s gone. I sigh. I take out my phone and go into my bookstore. I pick out a book out of the Piper Rayne collection, the two of them have to be one of my all-time favorite authors. I read the book while I wait for Carla to return. She told me she’d let me know if she left. I am so focused on my book I didn’t realize until he spoke up that he was beside me. “So, miss Library what you doing reading in a bar?” the guy I was looking at earlier asks.

"I won't even ask where it came from" We eat, then sit in the living room beside the fire reading. There's a shelf with books, all kinds of books and Carla said she wanted me to read to her. The last time I read anything was back in college. Other than the comments on my I*******m, I don't read. Later when she's asleep, I pick a novel. Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. It looks interesting so I settle down and read it.

Naomi's POV: So here we are back at the doctors to check on our little one. The waiting room is unusually full this morning and I have a feeling we might be here awhile. He shoves back his chair, stands, and pulls me to my feet. “We’ll have the reading in the library”. A reprieve. I hardly know whether to be grateful or annoyed. I settle for grateful.
