Chris spun around as if he were looking for something or someone. “You can come out now,” he shouted, “I’m sure you all got a great fucking laugh from trying to fool the famously gullible Christopher Red.” James blew out a heavy breath before the sound of snapping and rearranging bones echoed through the dense forest. Where a man once stood was replaced by the magnificent beast that is Onyx. His deep, almost black fur shined under the rays of sunlight, showing off their lighter brown tips.

They no longer cared about the dragon they used their booted feet to kick his ass across the room. “Sister it’s been a long time since we had a Griffin for dinner.” Misty said, as she cocked her head so far to the side, it made her look like that girl off the exorcist. “Yes a very long time, if I remember correctly the last one was spicy.” Rayne said, as she pulled a long shiny golden chain with a really big ass collar. Misty pulled out a long chain that had black smoke coming off it. She started whipping that thing around like she was in a rodeo. She whipped it in the Griffins directions he lifted his claw feet to caught the chain but he immediately let it go, when his claw started smoking

“Appreciate less.” I laughed and sat down beside Hector. His hand found mine under the table. He squeezed gently. “Is that roasted chicken?” Felix asked. “With herbs,” I said. “And fresh vegetables. And bread with honey butter.” Dorian looked at me with something like reverence. “You made this?” “I did.” Grayson reached for the bread, but Marcus slapped his hand away. “Wait. We should savor this moment.” Hector watched them with narrowed eyes. “You are all acting like you have never eaten before.”

“You’re asking about me? If you wanna know something, take it from the source.” “Shush. Chimichurri?” “Yeah.” He watched me with amusement as I dipped the spoon and tasted his sauce. “Wow. What are we having?” “Grilled chicken in teriyaki sauce with macadamia and couscous.” “Yum.” He started plating. Watching him was already mouthwatering. I couldn’t help but admire how easily he put things together while I could barely slice a tomato without cutting my finger. “Don’t look at me like that.” His voice deepened.

Astrid, Dexter, and Phoenix sat comfortably around the dining table, each with their own platter of golden chicken croquettes and a creamy yogurt sauce garnished with fresh herbs. The aroma was tantalizing, wafting through the air and making their mouths water in anticipation. Astrid picked up a croquette and dipped it generously into the sauce, savoring the combination as she took her first bite. After Damien put his arms around her, she said, “Hmm. When’s dinner arriving?” Damien checked his phone. “They said they’ll be here in 10 minutes.” Mandy’s stomach gurgled. “Just in time too. I have to eat for two, you know,” Mandy said as she touched her stomach lovingly. Damien laughed. “That’s right. Now that you’re eating for two. I ordered a little extra orange chicken. Your favorite.” Mandy chuckled. “Well, you know me. Always a sucker for orange chicken.” Suddenly, the lights turned back on.

"Go get stuffed, you horny old bastard! I have a fated mate. I can feel him! Unless we reject each other, you will never be able to bond with us, no matter what you do!" Onyx carefully analyzed her chest and snickered bitterly as he saw the mate mark of a crescent moon glowing on her fair skin, "This is rather an unheard of development and here I was hoping you to be fair game for at least a year...how disappointing." He then released her and his eyes transformed back to his gray eyes.

Onyx turned to her, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Fasten your seatbelts, ladies. We're going for a ride," he said, his voice filled with excitement. Mia's eyes widened. "W-what?" "Are you ready?" Onyx asked, his voice a low rumble. "What are you---Kyaaah?! What?! Why are you going so fast?!" Mia screamed, her hands gripping the seat as she felt the car accelerate. Lena, speechless, grabbed onto anything she could reach. "If you want to lose those guards who are following us, just hold on tight. Relax and enjoy the ride," Onyx said, his voice laced with amusement. He pressed down on the gas pedal, the car roaring as it sped down the road, causing Mia to scream in terror.
