“that’s a good point. She wouldn’t talk to me but Randy usually calls her a few times a month so it wouldn’t be unusual for him to call to check in.”
“It’s a start. In the meantime?” I’m baiting him. The thing about Armi and I is, I was supposed to be his Beta. I was the obvious choice. Normally the Beta isn’t someone who is a blood relative. But I am not that. When we turned 18, however, our dad made it very clear to Armi that he could not choose his Beta, he must take the one from the Beta bloodline of his generation, aka Randy. Armi wasn’t happy about this, but honestly, it made me happier. He may have wanted me there, but that wasn’t where I wanted to be. I already wanted to be a doctor.
