The woman was Blake's mother, Connie Hallswell.
She had separated from Blake's father years ago, and by chance, she was now in the country.
Blake once shared with me that Connie would behave promiscuously right in front of him when he was a child.
She made it clear that the only thing that mattered was living well. Morality and ethics were nothing more than empty concepts for people in their world.
I looked at her but said nothing.
She didn't care, of course. Without a word, she pulled out her phone and made a call. Not long after, someone arrived with a woman in tow.
