Chapter 23: The Arrival **Valerie's POV** I was sitting on my packed suitcase, trying to force the zipper closed, when Tony's head snapped toward the door after hearing some footsteps approaching. He'd been pacing for the last hour, checking his watch, making calls in clipped, angry tones. "That's them," he said, moving toward the door before the knock even came. I smoothed down my hair and tried to look composed, though my heart was hammering. I'd met Vivian and Victor at Tony's compound, and that had been under very different circumstances. Now they were coming into my space, my little apartment that suddenly felt smaller than ever.

Biting her lip, she continued to stare at the man in front of her stubbornly. “Miss Jameson, this is the company’s decision.” Tony’s face fell, his eyes holding a look of dismay. “Is this the company’s decision, or is it yours?” Ivy gritted her teeth before continuing, “Tony, are you transferring me because you can’t change my mind? What are you afraid of? Is it because you’re worried that having me around might displease her?”

I raised my head at once with a surprise expression on. “ Moving?! When did that happen?! Why am I just finding out about it just now?!” I studied their expression as I questioned them….. Tony is avoiding my gaze but Tonia kept a straight face on.

Tony walked toward me while I was deep in thought counting all the things I planned to discuss with Paul when we got home. For now, he and Alexis were tending to Ran. "I suppose I don't have to tell you that Monica has a romantic fixation on you," Tony said. I shook my head. "I discovered it." Tony looked embarrassed. "She used her succubus on me. Prior to that I'd never had any romantic notions for her, you can trust me on that."

His smirk widens into a grin. “So?” Christian says, and I turn to see him looking solidly at his brother. “You going to let your girl live under a different family than you?” Tony heaves a huge sigh and dips his head into his hands for a moment, clearly displeased that this decision was apparently made for him. “Tony,” Lucy whispers, reaching up to put a hand on his knee. “It’s right. I…believe in this.”

“Think you can fix that real quick. He has already tried to remove his IV twice and now has a nurse in the room at all times. Its already hard enough to get the floor covered with nurses.” Jaxson nods and pulls out his phone hitting the screen a few times. “Knock your shit off and lay in that damn bed.” He says. “Yes, that’s an order.” Tony says something all I can hear is muffled noise from his side. “She is fine.” Tony talks again. “The fuck you mean how do I know? I tried to push his arm away, but he held my shoulders firmly. "I told your Vice-President to take over for now. I told him you had other private things to attend to,” he seemed frustrated. "As if he would believe you," I rolled my eyes. Tony was not the type to believe others that easily. He was born to be a detective. He was always so doubtful of anything that happens around him. "Of course, he will, I used your phone." My eyes widened when I saw him swipe my phone from the infirmary stand. "Don't fool me, I have a password."

As the nurses sighted him, they all stood up and greeted him with a bow. “Welcome to TM Hospital. I look forward to working with you.” Tony greeted each of them with a handshake. A few minutes later, Tony was done with them and returned to his office. As he walked away, two of the male nurses, glanced at each other and nodded before excusing themselves. They walked to a secluded part of the hospital where they were sure they wouldn’t get caught and one of them brought out his phone. “Did you hear that, boss? He didn’t suspect a thing.” The one with dark hair said into the phone which had been on a call all through their discussion with Tony.

His wife wouldn’t suffer again once he destroyed Francisco and helped Veronica bring Francisco to Sabrina.
