Elowen’s POV – Twilight Whispers That evening, as the last vestiges of daylight faded into the soft embrace of twilight, the academy’s grounds transformed into a quiet sanctuary. I found myself wandering along a secluded stone path leading to a hidden courtyard, a place that had once been filled with echoes of our past conflicts and now promised a fragile new beginning. The gentle hum of evening stirred in the air—a murmur of crickets, the soft rustle of leaves—and all around, the academy seemed to exhale, releasing the weight of the day.

He had been sealed beyond the Door of Echoes, bound by the Queen’s blood and the Keepers’ silence. But seals break. And someone had been picking at the lock lately. By noon, the academy was in chaos. Students whispered of nightmares walking through the halls,shadows with too many eyes, whispers that called your name in voices you loved. Two first-years students vanished from their dormitory, found hours later in the undercroft, catatonic, their eyes filled with starless darkness. Morwen called an emergency assembly. She stood on the dais, face pale but composed, robes pristine, voice steady.

She shrugs her shoulder, "Alpha Austin, I don't know why you're here. I need to tell you since she lives here, no one has ever come here to take care of her. I tried to help, but can only help so much.” I nod my head to give her my thanks. "Alpha, is Emma getting involved in some trouble?" She asks. "No. But what do you mean?" I ask her with curiosity. "Nevermore is a special college for werewolves. Emma is a human, you told me she got the full scholarship from Nevermore. But I don't believe it. And I can smell some male aura from her." Feeling very short of breath, I freeze. There is a tightness in my chest and a dryness in my throat. My heart is thundering in my ears.

"Read this. Tonight. Before the Hunt." I looked at the cover. It was blank. "What is it?" "Insurance." He moved to the door, opening it. "Our meeting is over. Wouldn't want to violate curfew too badly." I stood, clutching the book. "Zephyr—" "Trust me or don't," he interrupted. "But read the book. And tomorrow, when the moon rises and the Hunt begins, remember—you're not as helpless as they want you to believe." I left, my mind reeling. The walk back to my room was a blur. The girl who'd escorted me was nowhere to be seen, but I found my way anyway. The corridors seemed to part for me, as if the academy itself was guiding me.
