It is a continuation of the story from Thomas and Paige's point of view, along with a few other cross-over characters from the Bloodstone series. I schemed through ledgers of the books, reading titles that were written in languages I did not understand. All the books were red, except for a particular purple one. Curious, I picked it and read the words written on the hard cover; ‘Lobo’ was the single word that was inscribed into the thick cover.

It was incredibly difficult to discern that went on in that century old heart of hers. I stretched out and received it from her. "That's not all," she spun around, and grabbed a book off the table. She held it out to me again, and I didn't hesitate to take it from her hand. "As promised, I have given you the Crimson heart. And that..." She pointed at the weighty book in my hand. "That's a grimoire, containing research on the blood moon oath. If you go through it diligently, you might find a way to break it without any other kind of substitutions."

This was the first time this ritual was going to be done, so they were nervous about things going wrong. Slowly, each candle was lit, and it was almost time for Rem and me to add a spot of blood to the two moon-like shapes. We had to be in sync with each other, but with our mind link, that would not be too difficult for us. What made it more tricky was that Ken and Sam had to add some sort of liquid to their own spots at the same time. I wasn’t sure what that liquid was, but it smelled like dusty old books and earth. It was a strange scent but not unpleasant.
