Crystal giggled and leaned on the window.

"I'm a software engineer at a company and I went to Stanford, and I'm from Ashford", he stated as if he was at an interview and his whole town was counting on him, the population of 220 people. "Ashford, woah your from a small town", I asked as he nodded looking at Avery as if to say he had no clue what to say next.

I coughed violently, blood spilling from my mouth. Then the sound of clapping came. Slow. Mocking. The men parted and Nolan stepped forward. He looked relaxed. Clean. Untouched. Dressed like he was attending a meeting instead of an execution. He was smiling. Laughing, actually. “Look at you now bestue,” he said, shaking his head. “Still trying to be the hero.” I forced my head up to look at him. My body screamed in protest, but I didn’t look away. “You always talk too much,” I rasped.

I just couldn't wait to see her, hold her again. Myles and Nolan were with me. Nolan was my PA at work, and he was one of the most reliable and loyal people I had in my life.
