Wolf Mountain (Book 2 A Wolf Affair Trilogy)

Wolf Mountain (Book 2 A Wolf Affair Trilogy)

It was probably because we were all trying to overcome the trauma we’d endured after discovering that my mother’s lifelong friend and the chief of police was, in fact, a sadistic sex pervert who was involved in human trafficking as well as providing pornographic and violent movies to the dark web. Cindy spent most of her time sleeping and acclimating to her new form of existence while Kenton and I spent a great deal of the time we had together making love in almost every location imaginable in the old estate house. With my mother off roaming the mountain in her wolf form and the house to ourselves, we experienced a newfound sense of freedom and our appetites for each other were insatiable.

Enemy From The Past (Unseen Enemy 4)

Enemy From The Past (Unseen Enemy 4)

“Maybe because if I do, it’s all real.” None of them had anything to say to that. They all knew about trying to ignore the nightmares, in the hope that pretending they weren’t there would make them less powerful. Make them not have happened. The four of them had spent years not talking about Afghanistan, years denying that any of it had been real. Kat’s train of thought made perfect sense to them, and none of them were going to judge her for having it. “OK, let’s take this slow,” Dean said. “Tell us about him.”

Risks Of Loving You

Risks Of Loving You

"It was just a dream. I get them too." I cry into his shoulder. He continues to hold me and strokes my hair gently. "I know it seemed real, but it was just a dream. You're OK. You're safe. I won't let anyone hurt you." For a long time, we are silent except for my subsiding sobs. When I can speak again, I whisper, "What do you dream about?" "Afghanistan," he says quietly. "Sometimes I wake up and forget I left. Sometimes I think I'm still in that last battle when Jeremy- when I-"

Wolf Six’s Salvation

Wolf Six’s Salvation

“Your mic is fine, Sarge. And everything else is fine too. It’s always a fine day when you’re in the Army.” "Damn straight," Dearden said, turning back to the road. "But, seriously, what's bothering you? I know you ain't got a girl back home, so it can't have been a 'Dear John' letter." Wolfe looked at the desolate landscape. Afghanistan was a harsh place to live, but he had become quite familiar with it over the last few months. “The intel that we got today is bothering me. I got it from an unreliable source. Still, I can’t say why, but I expect trouble. I want you to be on your guard today.”

The Mafia’s Temporary Bride

The Mafia’s Temporary Bride

Pleasing his wife meant trying to share some of her interests, but he didn’t expect to be pages deep into a story about some Afghans and their wars. This was not a romance story. He shut the copy of A Thousand Splendid Suns. He only enjoyed her mafia romance novels when he was reading them to her, or he would have started with those. They contained lots of misinformation about the mafia, but Camilla cared more for the main leads happy ever afters so he kept shut. Maybe that was why she liked the books. They were a respite from her mafia reality. The long-awaited call came in. His phone buzzed on the hotel bed, and he tossed the book on it. He picked up the device and murmured a gruff, “Tell

pulled out, the billions spent on the hospital would be wasted because the Afghan people had no way to keep the electricity running. Money. Everything has a price tag and that’s all they cared about. American lives mean little. I don’t care if it’s Republicans or Democrats in control of the U.S. government—money fucking rules. The lesson came home even harder when Moon rescued me in Mexico minutes before I got my ass shot. Moon had money and power. He also had a sense of decency. I rarely saw it among the Afghan power brokers, and the drug cartels lack even minor decency. Add my three tours in Afghanistan, my brother’s death followed by Nick’s, and all that’s left is a black hole that not ev

AFTER THE FALL

AFTER THE FALL

The shelter on 9th and Crenshaw looked smaller than Meekey expected. Just a square of brick and peeling paint, wedged between an auto shop and a boarded-up deli. But when she stepped inside, warmth radiated from every corner—blankets stacked neatly in bins, laughter drifting from the kitchen, volunteers handing out hot bowls of soup to people who hadn’t eaten since yesterday. It was the kind of place Meekey never would’ve stepped foot in before prison. Back then, her pride was too sharp. She used to think places like this were for the weak.
