Also, wolves think differently, too. When you're a wolf, the senses and emotions are heightened. You feel everything stronger." I nodded, understanding. I mixed another drink for both of us and then sat down at the table. "So, how are we going to catch Balista?" His eyes nearly bugged out of his head. "You can't catch him. He's a wizard."

It was moving towards her. When the shape got to about twenty feet away, Abigail saw it clearly. It was an entangled mass of large squirming worms, about five feet high and seven feet wide. Thousands of them were oozing and churning in a giant loathsome knot. And it was coming closer. As it slid across the floor a human arm, white and bloodless, flailed through the air, before being sucked back into the noisome mess. Then a head appeared, its eye sockets and mouth obscenely alive with gluttonous, writhing worms. It followed the arm, back into the broiling mass. Abigail saw death approaching with dispassion, as Lilith continued to whisper inside her head: 'Poor Mr James, he looks rather unwel

On the screens, the digital apocalypse they had engineered continued its silent, global spread. Maya worked at the primary console, her brow furrowed in concentration. “The worm is a closed-loop daemon,” she reported, her voice tense. “It’s not taking external commands anymore. It’s on a pre-set timer, systematically corrupting backup arrays and overwriting recovery points. It’s a scorched-earth protocol. Even if we shut this hub down, the worm continues. It’s designed to make the blackout permanent.” Haas allowed himself a thin, contemptuous smile. “You can have your little victory in this room. The victory is already written in the code. Rogers Industries is a ghost. A memory. You are hold

Inside the room, the box was sitting there, just as expected. The moment I looked at it, a sharp pain sliced through my head. My body froze. I couldn’t move at all. Then the dorm door slammed open. Voodoo worms don’t just spy on your actions—they release toxins to paralyze your body. She must have used the worm to learn you have all three keys!

Kairo was startled. He looked at Sebastian with vacant eyes. "Tell me how the person who was cursed is right now." Sebastian told Kairo about Whitney and Madeline's conditions in detail. "They've been infected with the Malleus worm." Kairo said in confusion, "This kind of poisonous worm can only be transmitted if there's skin-to-skin contact. You said that one of them was your woman, so—" "How dare you." Nina slapped Kairo before he could finish the sentence.

Corvina says, lifting the worm up in the air. I feel bile rising in my throat and I fear that I will have a bad trauma to overcome in the next few years because of that little ugly thing. “The worm is huge, well nourished…” Corvina points out, turning the worm in every direction. “That means that he was given certain… extra food, to make sure he stays alive.” “What?” I breathe out, my head spinning again. “The worm was implanted into you years ago, but someone was still feeding it till this day. Someone close to you, Missy.”

This was something that Michael could not figure out. Emmet thought for a while before saying, “The worm latches onto a person’s body for a long time like a parasite. At the same time, the host needs to be nourished. It’s highly possible that the host couldn’t manipulate the worm during that period, so your grandmother’s willpower overcame the worm’s control of her. But when she was under the worm’s control later, she forgot her past actions.” Michael understood and said, “As long as you can help me to settle this, I’ll reward you generously.”
