Behind Closed Doors Review นิยาย & เรื่องราว

It possessed a geometry that was too perfect for the rough, organic interior of the hut. It was a Door. The frame shimmered with a faint, violet luminescence, pulsing gently like a slow heartbeat. The center of the door was a swirling vortex of black, but deep within that blackness, Ressi could see faint glimmers, like distant galaxies spinning in a void. It looked deep—impossibly deep. The fire in the hearth seemed to shrink away from it. The temperature in the hut plummeted. Fear, cold and primal, washed over him. He scrambled backward until his back hit the reed door he had been about to open. "Mungu wangu," he whispered.

“Open the door immediately!” The Director sighed. The sound almost surprised Selena. He sounded tired. Not powerful. Not dangerous. Just tired. Like a man realizing his empire was finally ending. Richard moved first. He crossed the room and pressed a button near the wall. A loud click echoed through the archive. The lock disengaged. Seconds later— the doors opened. Several investigators entered. Behind them stood armed officers. Nobody resisted. Nobody tried to run. There was nowhere to run anymore. The lead investigator stepped forward.

“Ah, that? Clay handles that for me, he briefs me with the details, I step in when I have to.” “I am a lawyer, but he makes me do all kinds of stuff.” Clay whines, Abed rolls his eyes as the elevator comes to a stop. There is another door but we ignore it totally, marching past it, “Where does that lead to?” “The sex rooms. It has all sorts of things in there, once before you could enter without authorization, I stumbled into it and my jaw dropped, a lot of different things goes on behind that door.” Joanne shivered. After seeing the room Clay and her uses, I am glad to find out somethings can still shock her. Why was I curious to see what went on behind those doors?

“To a memory you’ve forgotten. One your mind is buried.” She tensed in the chair. Fingers curling. “Mila? Do you see another door?” “…yes.” “What does it look like?” “Metal. Rusted. Locked.” “Can you open it?” Her breath grew ragged. “There’s screaming behind it.” Adrien kept his voice level. “You’re safe. The door won’t harm you. You’re stronger than the memory.” Silence. Then, a whisper: “The fire.” Adrien’s heart skipped. “Tell me what you see.”

After it was shattered that day, I never saw the pieces again. They were just… gone. I squeezed my eyes shut, fighting the familiar sting behind them. I refused to let a single tear fall. In my mind, I could still hear its ghostly melody. A song I thought I'd never hear again. A knock at the door shattered the quiet grief. "Come in." It wasn't a guard. It was Julian. He wore a black suit and held a small velvet box. His gaze drifted to the empty cabinet, lingering for a moment before meeting mine.

My instincts whispered that the end wasn’t really the end. When I reached the last point, I tapped the wall lightly. Solid. Then I saw a Mona Lisa painting, slightly off-center. I leaned closer, studying her knowing smile. Something inside me urged me to poke her eyes. Ridiculous, but my gut had never failed me. I did it. A soft mechanical click broke the silence, and the wall behind me shifted open. A hidden door. Heart pounding, I slipped inside. The room was dark and cold, smelling faintly of dust and papers. My fingers brushed along the wall until they found a switch. Light flickered to life.

He says after a beat “The doors close on their own but can be easily opened from inside. I was told the iteneriry is easy to locate as well.” The doors close on their own? What is this, an RPG dungeon? I nod with effort, “Thanks for the warning.” And with that, I turn my back at the doors and take in the illuminated view in front of me. Rows upon rows of bookshelves greet me, as high as the ceiling. From where I stand, I spot a rough stone staircase at one side of the basement and when I go closer, more stairs fill my vision, swallowed by darkness as the go deeper into the ground. Somewhere behind me, metallic doors clang shut.

The walls transitioned from marble to reinforced steel, the temperature dropping slightly with every step. Finally, they reached a vault door—thick and old-world, like a relic from a safer time. The man turned to face them. “You understand this ledger is off-grid. You will not be monitored. Once the door closes, you will be sealed inside until the session ends.” “Understood,” Sophia said. The door opened with a hydraulic hiss. Cold air and silence waited inside. Once they stepped through, it closed behind them with a finality that felt absolute. ---

Amory had me measure the small room to the side of the garage door before we left the colonial. The next place we stopped at was the shop, which is currently closed. However, Amory goes to the back door and places her hand down on a scanner. Like the safe in her closet, it illuminates and beeps while blinking red three times before it turns green. The back door clicks open! She opens the door and an alarm blares loudly. Amory opens the panel to the side of the door, types her birth date in, and the alarm silences. I walk in with her, and she shuts the door behind us. The next room we walked into looked like the door hadn’t been open in years! “What the fuck is this?” I choked out as the dust

My eyes eagerly pass over them, and then my brow creases with a confused frown. Press the top right corner in the back of your wardrobe, hard. Then come downstairs. Destroy this note. What the hell? Confused, but intrigued, I get to my feet. I stalk to my wardrobe, throwing open the doors again and pounding a fist against the top right corner of the wood at the back – And my jaw falls open when the wood clicks, a magnetic lock behind it releasing and revealing that the back of my wardrobe – which I thought was solid – is actually a god damn door.
