I came past it on the opposite side of the street without slowing, clocking the table positions, the exits, the sightlines. Don Marco was at the back. Older than I remembered from the gathering — or perhaps the gathering had simply been the first time I had seen him outside the context of his own power and the absence of infrastructure had done something to the way he carried his age. He was talking to Greco with the measured attention of a man conducting a transaction. Not agitated. Not desperate. The composure of a man who had operated in this world for thirty years and had not lost his ability to function simply because the conditions had changed.

I hear Lesha say with a grin on her face as she watches us. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Ms.Ox, I promise not to keep her out too late." I say as I hold out my hand to shake hers. Her grandmother looks down at my hands without moving at all, and I start to feel uncomfortable and slightly awkward. She looks straight in my eyes with a serious expression on her face. "I expect her to be back here no later than 11pm and I am choosing to trust you with her safety, so if anything happens to her, you'll have me to deal with." Ms.Ox says sternly as she extends her hand and grips mine with a lot of strength that wasn't expected at all.

“Anna—” “No more half-truths,” I cut in, my voice shaking. “No more avoiding the question. I deserve to know what’s happening to me.” He sighed, his expression unreadable. “You do.” I swallowed hard. “Then tell me. What is an omega?” Nolan hesitated, as if weighing his words carefully. “Omegas are rare,” he finally said. “They’re… different from others. More instinct-driven. More attuned.” I frowned. “Attuned to what?”

“If this isn’t pet care, I have to contact the person who booked the job first to confirm.” Her expression flickered, then she calmed down. “Don’t be nervous. Just help me unpack a few boxes. That’s what errand runners do, right?” Something felt off. The job was listed as pet care, but there was no sign of an animal. The woman kept avoiding the topic. Even stranger: a small security camera in the corner of the room was pointed directly at the entrance and the sofa. I tensed up and stepped back. “Sorry, the job description doesn’t match what’s here. I can’t continue. You can update the order on the app, and I’ll decide if I can take it.”

We already caused most pack members to feel protective and care for us. The mate bond would be too much for most werewolves. They would go insane with added feeling of protectiveness that the mate bond would create if they weren't strong enough. Since I was a powerful Omega, it was almost impossible that any wolf would be powerful enough for the Goddess to pair me with.

Charles said. Jace laughed. "Are you in for a club tonight? Ready to f**k some hot bítches?" He asked. "Nah, I think I'll pass," Charles said, shocking the hell outta Jace. Six years ago, when Adom got the results back from the doctors, he couldn't process what Omega said. His mom was an omega, and he loved her dearly, but he also saw how omegas still got treated in this society and how it was hard for them to find a good job. They even had to watch out for alphas when they were in heat, or they could be attacked.
