At the center of it all was their Ace, Kota Roku. Kota had a reputation that preceded him. He was a shadow in the court world, unreadable, lethal, and dangerously accurate. His uncanny ability to mirror any move and make it his own had earned him the title of The Phantom Ace. And now, that shadow had turned its gaze to Taiga. Just minutes before tip-off, Maya had grabbed Taiga by the arm and pulled him aside into the tunnel under the bleachers, away from the team and their growing nerves. The lights overhead flickered as if the universe knew what kind of match was about to go down.

She scrolls through while reading their names. “Bitan… Furuōgi… Rokurokubi… no wait maybe it’s in the other folder.” She says and switches to the other folder to search for it. “Here it is!” she says while comparing the photo of a Tako nyūdō to the tentacle monster that they had encountered. [Author’s Note: Tako nyūdō is an octopus like yokai which is quite similar to the one they encountered… The octopus is a direct translation for Tako. I don’t know what the other thing means to be honest.]

Akiko cheerfully announced—this was also part of the SOP—while sliding the shoji door open. Inside, two men were sitting cross-legged on the floor, with other food and drinks already laid out on the table. Their appearance caused Akiko to shiver slightly. Their bodies were quite sturdy, and they stared at her with blank expressions. They were neatly dressed in ties with slicked-back hair, but Akiko doubted they were office workers because one of them had a tattoo on his cheek. He definitely wouldn't be working in any office. Although momentarily startled by the guests' appearance, Akiko continued to smile politely and entered with the tray, still moving cautiously.

They stand out from the others due to their outfits but thank God, they didn't show their tattoos. It was easy to spot them from the crowd so I approach them. They probably can't recognize us since we dress to blend in with the other tourist. They speak in Japanese and thinking I won't be able to understand them I replied, "shita ni kiotsu kero! Kono kuso yarou !! shini tai-no?!" (Watch your tongue! you fucker! Wanna die?!) They were quite shocked by the challenge I give but it was not long until they realize who they're talking to. They bow their head and apologize to me. Apparently, they didn't receive the notice that we will dress up as tourists and expect us to come like a mafia member.
