Nicky had done far worse than just bite me. I looked up and coldly stared at her. "You people are really made for each other." "What's that supposed to mean?" she snapped. "You know what it means," I said, standing up to jab my finger in her shoulder. "You're a monster who beat up my wife so badly that she was critically wounded." Then, I whipped my shaking finger around to point at Nicky. "And as for you, you're a little monster who flushed my wife's ashes down the toilet!"

I kept pounding until the last of my strength drained away, and I collapsed on the floor. Then, a sliver of light cut through the darkness. Moving toward it, I saw that it was Rosa. Her once-proud face was now covered with deep, crisscrossing scars. Coupled with the cold gleam in her eyes, her whole presence exuded unsettling eeriness. From the dim cellar, she looked even more terrifying. "Hazel, were you reborn too?" I froze. "What?" "Why did Dexter get into Grandcrest College this time? Why did Theo blow through all his money? Even you got into college! Why are you still living better than me?"

Sometimes that is enough. When I think now of the moment it shifts in me from thought to action, it is a thin line. We call some men monsters. Monsters are not terrible because they kill. They are terrible because they do not understand the cost in others. I understand the cost. That understanding keeps me awake at nights, keeps me alert to tiny moves, to betrayals the size of a promise.

Now it’s stronger, and he looks scarier; feels more terrifying. Two men, whose backs are turned to her, bow to the alpha. The one by his right is dressed in a velvety wine-colored suit, while the one by his left looks rough around the edges, his whole attire made of black and brown leather. The shrieks and whispers continue in the background, especially from the women. “They’re here! The alpha’s brothers are back! The pack’s ambassador and the pack’s delight are here. Moon’s Wrath’s powerful trinity are finally together!”

I looked between them — Atlas steady as ever, Hunter still grinning like he'd won something bigger than a skate race — and felt, for the first time in longer than I could remember, like nothing about my life needed explaining to anyone anymore. "Let the world call us monsters," Atlas said quietly, watching the last of the porch lights flicker against the dark. "As long as you remember who you belong to."

Like from a tadpole to be a frog race? "Some of you may not know what you are right now but I bet most of you know! You all are semen! Oh wait, I mean sperm cells! Yehey!" What the f*ck! This is f*cking worse! I thought we are a tadpole! Well, I don't mind being one but a sperm? Heck no! This is not an Enchantrix race, it's not even enchanted at all! This is a monster's race! All men are monsters! And sperm is their bullet of disasters! Hence, it's a monster's race!

When I turned around my feet began to take me far away, running across the tall trees with my heart in my throat, I didn't even know where my legs were taking me but I knew that it was as far away as from what I had just seen just now. All of them were men, men that could shift into wolves and not just normal looking wolves, rather most of them looked like wolves that had gone to the gym for years because they had more muscle mass than any wolf I have ever come across in my life. I have been ready to accept anything else, basically anything else at all but not this anything else but this I didn't know that they were literal monsters I just thought that perhaps…I didn't even know what I was t

I’d completely forgotten I’d ordered them. “Sea Monkeys?” Matt said with some scorn. “Seriously?” “Sea Monsters,” I replied, pointing to the box. “I was bored and saw the ad in the back of one of the comics.” Matt took the box and turned it over, scanning the details on the back. “It’s probably just another breed of shrimp,” he said, handing it back to me.

Though the monsters that made that sound were terrifying to behold. What I was staring at were creatures that resembled hybrid experiments gone wrong. The monsters were as tall as the trees in the forest. Their arms were so long they used them to walk along with their two legs, like the gorillaens I had once seen in the zoo back at Coven Community.

“Tee, of course. If those creatures are anything like that man, I don’t want to be on the bad side of one. “ I hummed low in my throat at him. “You have a point. Especially after seeing him and Demon snap necks like they were toothpicks.” I respond, thinking back to the fight we were caught in the middle of between the Damned Forsaken and the Ravagers to rescue the man I’m talking to now. Those two men are monsters.
