Pursuing the warriors as quietly as possible was not an easy task, to be honest, but I succeeded in doing so. The wolves and vampires were too preoccupied with what was outside the gate to smell me, or it was probably because they were a little far from me.
When I arrived at the gate, I let out a quiet gasp at what I was seeing outside the ward. The sound of the roar that had alerted us of danger gave us a clue as to how big of a danger we were in. Though the monsters that made that sound were terrifying to behold. What I was staring at were creatures that resembled hybrid experiments gone wrong. The monsters were as tall as the trees in the forest. Their arms were so long they used them to walk along with their two legs, like the gorillaens I had once seen in the zoo back at Coven Community. These beasts had huge heads like wolves, fangs as long as my arm, their eyes were snake-like, and their huge bodies had thick muscles designed by a map of veins. They had long scorpion tails. These were monsters that have never been heard of or seen in the history of Mistworld. They didn't look like demons either. I'd read about all the types of demons, so I was certain these weren't demons. "What in Zhyrie's name are these things from?" I muttered to myself in horror. As if hearing my voice from the distance, the largest of the Scorpion-wolf snapped his head towards my direction, its eyes latching onto mine before it let out a deafening roar and began to slam the ward with renewed vigor."Fuck." I whimpered in fear and took more steps back. Maybe pursuing the warriors had been a terrible idea. "I should join the others." I whimpered to myself or the monster, I didn't know for certain, all I knew was that my previous bravery had taken a stroll and left me behind."It's too late for that." A deep voice said from behind me just before my back hit a tree, no, a rock. A rumbling rock of muscles. I shot forward but the person behind me grabbed my waist and held me in place, not moving an Inch despite my struggles.I struggled, trying to free myself to no avail. I didn't know who was behind me and I was too terrified to find out. Was it an enemy of the school who successfully breached the school or someone playing a prank on me? I sincerely hoped It was the latter, although I was feeling a weird sense of peace which I didn't understand. The monsters were still hitting the ward but it seemed their attempts would be futile. This was proof that the Elder Witches were indeed powerful as they were rumored to be. But that was the least of my problems currently. I needed to free myself from whoever was behind me."You smell good. Like Mistberry and rose. Delicious." The voice said again. I heard a deep inhale and exhale and felt wetness on my earlobe. Did he just sniff at me and lick my earlobe? Oh, no way. This ends now.Stomping on his foot in anger, I dug my fingernails into the arm around my waist and summoned tiny pebbles on his head all at the same time. He released his hold on me and stepped back. I did the same and whirled around to face him, ready to give him the biggest tongue lashing of his life but stopped short when I saw the green hair god who was trying to dodge my raining stones to no avail. He was tall and heavily built. His green hair matched the color of the MistWorld sky. I felt a warm feeling crawl from my heart and spread throughout my body. It was strange but felt good. It was like taking a hot cup of coffee on a cold day. "Can you shut your rain of stones off now?" He asked, pulling me from my thoughts as he continued trying to dodge them."Will you stop being an asshole if I do?" I asked angrily in return."I was just fucking with you," he argued."Messing around with a female when monsters are about to invade the school?""The ward will hold. Besides, we are waiting for them on this side of the ward if, a big IF, they succeed in breaking the ward." We? It was at that moment I noticed he was in a uniform similar to the warriors I had been following. My eyes widened at him."You are one of the warriors!" I said accusingly, quelling the stones instantly."Yes. I am." He answered, straightening his uniform before striding forward, closer to me, an arrogant smile on his lips. "I'm Erix. Who are you?"Are you okay?" I heard Erix's voice from behind me that evening when I decided to visit mivaeria at the stables. I had been stroking the beautiful horned horse when he arrived. I knew before he spoke that he was behind me, thanks to the bond, so I wasn't startled.I shrugged but didn't reply. I was still scared and worried about Karissa. And to make things worse, Vivian had sent a message that Coven Community was under attack from Karissa's monsters. She had ordered me to stay at the academy for my safety when I told her I was leaving the academy to help out. I didn't know what Karissa's plan was but it was not good. I hadn't been mind controlled since the last time, and it worried me too because it meant she had something else in mind.Erix's hand rested on my shoulder, instantly filling me with warmth and peace. I sighed and closed my eyes, reluctantly soaking up the feeling. He gently massaged my shoulder. "You can talk to me."I almost snorted in disbelief but held it in. "I'm fi
Two days later, Vivian left for the Coven community after repeatedly asking me to go back with her, insisting I wasn't safe in N.A. But I couldn't leave my friends behind. And I was happy here anyway. Alix, Adalyn, and I had stayed with her whenever we were free before she left. I found It sweet that Alix was willing to spend some time knowing my family when he had other things to do. I had been carrying the guilt of keeping Erix a secret from all of them, including the mind control problem. I was hoping to resolve it quietly with Vivian's help. The mind-control was the only proof we had that Karissa hadn't backed down. She had not shown herself to us yet. Honestly, I was worried that the reason she hadn't shown herself to us was that she was planning something big. I later been in the dark, especially when the lives of people I loved were in danger. I'd lost a friend because of her, I couldn't imagine losing another. It would kill me. Erix, to my shock, had also visited Vivian bef
Three days later, I was convinced of three things. One, Something was terribly wrong with me because I had found myself being mind controlled twice after the first time, heading towards the same place. And each time, Erix was the one who snapped me out of it. He was now a constant presence in my life. I had been feeling his eyes on me whenever he was around me which was frequent now. The strange warmth and sense of peace I had been feeling around Erix were getting a little bit stronger by the day. I noticed it became worse whenever I wielded a large amount of magic in class during demonstrations. I had been trying to ignore it but it was getting harder each day. Two, I still haven't sorted out whatever I was feeling for Alix, who was now closer to me than before. I wasn't going to let him go because of a stupid pull toward Erix. Three, I loved my new roomie. She was the best roommate I could ever ask for. Just like I had clicked with Adalyn on the first day, I also clicked with Dhar
"My roommate was called back home after Karissa's attack. His parents withdrew him from the school for his safety. So we have the room to ourselves," Alix explained when we sneaked into his dorm room. Everywhere was completely quiet now but the lights were still on. I had three hours to canoodle and be naughty.I grinned up at Alix when he quietly shut the door. His eyes sparkled with interest at what I was up to. "Well then, Mr. Alix, I guess we have to make good use of this wonderful opportunity and spend less time talking."He chuckled softly but groaned in pleasure when I caressed his chest. Encouraged by his reaction, I traced my hand with my lips but stopped. Frustrated by the clothing barrier, I unbuttoned his cotton shirt and slipped it down his arms which immediately wrapped themselves around my waist.Moving back a little from his arms, I unzipped his pants and dropped them, revealing striped black and white boxers. The huge bulge in his boxers made me satisfied and grinne
That evening, Alix and Adalyn reluctantly returned to their rooms to give me time to rest after I yawned so many times during our conversation. I was asleep when the sound of my door opening woke me up, making me bolt upright, my heart beating rapidly. Being kidnapped by a psycho could do that to a person.A tall beautiful girl with long curly brown hair walked into the room but paused when she saw me staring at her. She broke into a warm smile and came toward me extending her hands, which I took.Hello. My name is Dhariea. You must be Regina," she said in a soft voice.Dhariea Ellentra, according to our room door which was now displaying both our names instead of just mine.I smiled at her, "Yes, I am. It's a pleasure to finally meet you," I replied, standing up and straightening my tousled hair. She gave me a wide grin, exposing straight white teeth. "Same here. I heard about what happened to you before I arrived, I'm sorry you went through all that. Since I'm here, we will become
"Mister Wilkins was right. Karissa would be back." Alix growled, his hand fisted.I had narrated every detail to them, whereas I had purposely kept out some parts of the truth while narrating everything to the principal. I didn't tell him about my vampire, demon, and witch heritage. I wasn't ready to divulge the truth to the world just yet.Adalyn and Alix had been stunned and speechless when I told them about my demon side. After we tried to guess how a person could have demon genes in them to no avail, we dropped the subject.Adalyn looked very worried, "If Karissa planned to take over the three worlds, then we have to stop her. But I worry about something, what if she could achieve her goal without you? Could that be why she stole that artifact from the school?"Alix cussed under his breath, drawing my attention to him. That was a first. But fuck, if Adalyn was right, then we were in trouble. But there were loopholes in that theory."Why then did she go through all that length to k
