Oh Ana Lyrics Novels & Stories

A folded piece of paper with my name on it is propped up in front of the cake. "Happy Birthday Dear Ryyyyyaaaaaan," Ana sings. "Happy Birthday to youuuuu." She strums dramatically on the guitar as she holds the last note. She looks up at me expectantly with a smile. I just stare at her. Illuminated by the dim light of the candles and holding her guitar, wearing an apron smeared with flour and her long curls bundled up in a messy bun, Ana has never looked so beautiful. She's utterly breathtaking. "Well? Aren't you going to blow out the candles?" she asks.

Anne whispered, giggling. “You’re married,” I teased. “Come on, we’re still allowed to admire from afar. Even with a handsome husband, a girl’s eyes still wander.” She had a point. I’d had my share of crushes too. “Oh wait—I forgot. That’s your ex-husband!” Anne said. Before I could react, the emcee’s mic let out a loud feedback screech. “What was that?” I asked, missing what she had said. “Nothing,” she replied quickly, smiling.

“Anaya!!!” Her name echoed through the house as her dad pounded up the stairs, her 4 brothers mirroring him. She had locked herself in her room not to hide from her father but to avoid the damning fate that awaited her outside those doors. “Anaya,” her father’s voice boomed once more, then the pounding on her door came. It shook violently as her father continued to bang repetitively. “Anaya, if I call your name one more time, there will be hell to pay.”
