Just as she was focusing, the door to the study opened, and she raised her head, only to see Darls Collymore standing in the doorway, looking at her with slight disbelief and some tenderness in his eyes.

She found Olivia sitting cross-legged on her bed, deeply engrossed in a cookbook titled *The Joy of French Cooking*. At the sound of Flora’s entrance, Olivia jumped, her cheeks flushing as she quickly closed the book. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you,” Flora said, holding up her hands apologetically. Olivia waved her off, her blush deepening. “It’s fine, really. I was just... trying to memorize a recipe.”
