David is doing business in the field Adele knew that right now, David might feel threatened by Richard's presence. In people's eyes, maybe David is just a mafia figure and a criminal. But in Adele's eyes, David is a figure who brings back happiness in her life. When Adele's only brother is in debt to loan sharks, Adele feels very miserable because she has to continue to pay off her brother's debt. At that time, Adele could not do anything, even though she was a police officer, because the loan sharks took her brother hostage so that Adele could pay off the debt.

And David knew, the real war had only just begun. The revelation about 'The Architect' detonated David's carefully constructed peace in Bali. The serene beauty of the island, which had only moments ago felt like a sanctuary, now felt like a cage. The weight of his father's death, an old, raw wound he had thought was caused by fate or petty crime, was now revealed to be the deliberate act of a master manipulator. David understood, with chilling clarity, that his entire life, his career, his descent into the underworld, and even his eventual quest for peace, had been orchestrated as part of this man’s grand design.

The perfect life with Jenna Grabbing his travel mug of coffee, and his briefcase he heads to his unmarked car. His very first pay check ten years ago, he went and bought this car and it’s still going. When he got to the station and checked his voicemail, there were five new messages, all from the family of the victims from the murder drug scene he worked a month ago. They’re understandably hurt, shocked and desperate for answers, and they're calling to see if he had any leads or evidence.

But I too sometimes use underworld dudes, not to eliminate rivals, but to conduct small investigations that usually cannot be done by men in coat and tie. I grab my phone and call my old school friend David. A dropout who tries to survive in life after his young parents die in a fatal car accident before making any financial arrangements for him. With small assignments, I was able to stop him from ending up in hard crime and also gave him some well-paid clients. He is still grateful to me for that. “David”, I greet him as soon as he answers my call. "Are you all right?"

I pointed out, and he bobbed his head up and down in agreement. “Yes, that’s true. However, you are thinking like Elena Jones, not Darcy Taylor. You give too much credit to that thief than she deserves. She might have left everything intact, just because she knew you would come to the same conclusion.” David sipped on his glass of water and watched me quietly, his gaze pinning me to my place. I know he could be right, but he could also be wrong.

I say with a wicked smile, climbing onto his lap and kissing him deeply, his hands running over my body in a way that tells me we won’t be making our dinner reservations tonight. I don’t care. Because I finally have David. I finally have peace. And I finally have hope for a future I never even dared dream about. Who knew a BDSM worker and a mob boss would have a love story as good as this? Turns out we did. And we’re only just getting started. ~END~ I just wanted to say a final massive thank you to everyone who has read this story <3 I'm so grateful and hope you all enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

David walked over to the bald man, stepped on his face, crouched down, and said, "How dare you hit my friend and harass his girlfriend? Baldy, what do you think we should do about this?" With David stepping on his face, the bald man mumbled, "P... punk, you... you're dead meat. I'm telling... telling you. I'm with Mr... Mr. Camden. Now... now that you touched me, there's no more place for you... you in River... River City." "Oh? How arrogant! Then I'd like to see who this Mr. Camden is. Get up and call him to come over." David let go of the bald man after saying that.

I'm sure he dreams of a place where his Alpha blood is equal to liquid sunshine—a place where even humans bow down to him. I told David before we came that Nicodra wouldn't bother me, yet here I am, undeniably bothered. I suppose I was bending my truth all to get me here in the first place, and now that I am, I want to do something about this. The answer to his downfall is so obvious: he's a bad man, plain and simple. He wears his weakness with pride. David asks, "Are you alright?" I take my eyes from Nicodra and say, "I will be once this ends. These stupid shoes Jeremy packed are killing my feet."

His words softened me instantly, because It was the first time since my parents died that I was kindly spoken to, and from a total stranger, unlike my own blood sister who at best spelt it to my face that I was useless. I gave it a thought for a while, and I knew he was a Godsend. How could I even say no when I had nowhere to sleep tonight. “It's fine, Andrew.” I fondled the money for a while before I tucked it inside my small handbag that was on the table “Let me help you with that,” He quickly grabbed the bag from the table and secured it under his arm. I felt my being come alive with this little gesture. I couldn't help but gasp when his warm palm pressed against mine as he supported me t

The gifts were extravagant, yes, but in a way that made me feel… remembered, noticed, even cherished. And somewhere deep down, I knew that no matter how much I wanted to resist him, this was only the beginning. The threats might have been frightening, the police might not have found anything, but Maverick had found a way to infiltrate my world again, quietly, deliberately, irrevocably. I leaned back in my chair, closing my eyes, letting the faint scent of the dahlias envelop me. One thing was certain: the game had begun. And despite everything, I couldn’t help but wonder how far he was willing to go—and how much I was willing to let him.
