I sigh walking in the bedroom and plopping down on the bed . Its hardly been three days and I am already getting tired of this works . I roll my eyes taking my phone but I froze as I heard the door open . Swiftly hiding the phone under my leg I look up to see Ruth , " Hey , you want something ?" I spoke . He just stared at me . Making me super uncomfortable . " W-What ?" I ask and he took tow steps ahead and suddenly I was alert . " Ruth " I questioned and he gave a sigh . " Nothing , just ..go sleep " He said slamming the door shut making me confused .

The sweet fragrance wafts up, deceivingly pleasant, but I recognize the danger. "Damn... It." Everything goes black.

I answered by grabbing his belt. The buckle clinked loudly in the confined space.

From the darkness of the metro tunnel, dozens of glowing red eyes, larger than those of the Shadow Crawlers, emerged. The low growl from before had transformed into a sickening, squelching sound, like someone chewing on grotesque gum, and their breath released a sweet, sticky vapor into the air. I stared at the empty box, then slowly lifted my gaze to Garrett, who suddenly looked very guilty. “Did you seriously eat the last dessert?” I gasped. “Garrett, I literally tagged that yesterday! I told you I wanted it for breakfast!”
