Elena didn't stop her. She guided Sarah’s hand toward the "Forbidden" override, the one Alistair had built into the system. As the child’s fingers touched the glowing light, a pulse of pure, unadulterated harmony surged through the building. In the sub-level, the security turrets didn't fire. They powered down, their internal circuitry overwhelmed by a frequency they weren't programmed to understand. The Ouroboros Prime’s voice screeched in static and then vanished.

She couldn't believe she was captivated by Optimus Prime like that. Fahira walked awkwardly like a robot until a loud voice snapped her back to reality. "Fahira, come on! Snap out of it!" Mira yelled, who apparently was still waiting at her cubicle. "What's wrong with you guys? You're so annoying! You said Optimus Prime hadn't arrived yet? Well, he's in there!" Fahira retorted, annoyed. Silence followed. Mira and Susi exchanged puzzled looks, not understanding Fahira's words.

Adam explained, "we all work as a team. I can't rule the whole world by myself." Cain was quiet for a few moments. "I will when I become Alpha," he said firmly. Adam laughed. "I'm sure you will," he said. "Now, go get ready for bed." I opened the door to the office as Cain ran past me to his bedroom. "Does he not worry you?" I asked Adam. Adam shook his head. "Does he worry you?" he asked. I nodded. "How many other four-year-old’s do you know that talk about world domination?"

“Mommy, there are never enough robots! The Autobots need more troops!” I let out a long breath. “Your room is already full of robots. You don't even play with all of them.” Max shook his head hard, his messy hair moving with his movements. “That's because I need a bigger Optimus Prime! And Megatron! They have to fight!” I gave him a flat look. “I thought you already had Optimus and Megatron.” “But this is the NEW VERSION, Mommy!” he protested, emphasizing the word ‘new’ dramatically. “The cooler one! The one that talks and moves on its own!”

His metallic body crashed to the ground, motionless. Maya stood tall, her chest heaving with exhaustion. She had done it. She had stopped Victor and shut down the Omni program. But as she turned to Ryder, she saw something that made her blood run cold. Ryder's eyes had gone black, his body stiffening into a robotic pose. "Ryder, no!" Maya screamed, but it was too late. Ryder's body began to transform, his skin turning a pale, metallic gray. The Omni program's energy was still active, and it had infected Ryder. Maya's heart sank as she realized that the battle was far from over.
