He smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners, and asked, "What's wrong? Why are you staring at me like that?"
I hesitated, unsure of how to answer. But then, I decided to be honest, to open up to him in a way I never had before. "I missed someone important to me," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "Someone who was a part of my heart. If that person were here, would I be happy like this?"
