By the time they moved on, the sun had climbed high in the sky, and her energy was starting to wane. “Snack break?” Thomas suggested, eyeing Emma. Emma nodded. “Good call.” They found a bench under a tree near the penguin exhibit, where Thomas unpacked the snacks. Lily happily grabbed her cheese cubes, munching quietly while Sparkles sat propped up beside her. “Penguins next?” Emma asked softly. Lily nodded between bites. “Do penguins fly?” “Nope,” Thomas replied, handing her a juice box. “Penguins swim instead of flying. They’re like little torpedoes in the water.”

I took pictures of the sharks and some other animals, too, and we had a blast watching the penguins swim across the tank. The penguin exhibit was especially fascinating, as it had lots of different kinds of animals, including turtles, frogs and various aquatic mammals. Then I turned back towards the shark exhibit, where Tyler was looking at a big squid. It was huge - it looked like an octopus from afar. The biggest one I have ever seen, maybe even bigger than the giant squid at the World Aquarium in Florida. The big squid also moved really fast. It kept swimming around in circles and turning around until it became dizzy and started falling backwards.
