It made the vivid red roses in his arms seem almost mocking in their contrast.
I let out a faint scoff, ready to walk around him and head straight home. But his eyes lit up the moment he saw me. Without hesitation, he walked toward me, dropped to one knee, and held the roses up with a look of desperate sincerity.
