"I ask you again, me or my sister. Choose." Travis gazed into Serena's determined brown eyes. He wanted to choose her so badly, but knowing the predicament he was in, he just couldn't. Period. He was ashamed that he was not strong enough to take everything like a man that he was meant to be. He failed himself, and most of all, he failed his mate. With that, he gave his answer through body language. Head bent low and a shake of his head. He wasn't choosing her. He chose Carmela.

He looked up at me with guilt written all over his face. "Lisa… I was wrong. I shouldn't have let her manipulate me. I shouldn't have ignored your feelings over and over again. I even humiliated you right to your face because of that woman. I swear, Lisa, if you give me one more chance, I will never let you down again. I'll work hard, I'll build a better life for you…" He choked up, and his eyes were red with emotion. Then as if to prove his sincerity, he dropped to his knees with a loud thud.

The gun wavered dangerously. "Choose," he said, his voice collapsing into something small and broken and desperate. "Right now. Choose. Me or him." The demand hung in the air, delusional and devastating and so disconnected from reality that answering felt almost absurd. Almost. "Always him," I said, without hesitation, without qualification, without a single moment of doubt. "Forever him. Every single time, without exception, I choose him." "You're supposed to choose ME!"
