Almost immediately, she slid into my DMs: [Mrs. Schmidt, I'm not trying to break up your marriage. I just want to have this child. Life is precious.] Wow. She couldn't wait to tell me she was pregnant, like she was doing charity work or something. I left her on read. A few minutes later, she messaged again: [Mrs. Schmidt, I'm telling the truth!] By then, I'd already saved all her posts and photos. Screenshots on lock. Finally, I replied: [What are you saying? You're pregnant? It's Neil's?]

“Sounds good.” The cooking part of things went surprisingly well. She played chef while he manned the coals. They chatted while she got things going, but the conversation remained in neutral territory. He didn’t mention seeing her in her skivvies or their late-night calls. Instead, he caught her up on the park news, describing a couple of recent calls. She didn’t have much to contribute. She loved sitting in the watchtower, loved the peace and quiet of it all, but those calm days didn’t make for exciting storytelling. What was she supposed to say? I saw a bear yesterday? Or, hey, I called in that smoke you spent ten hours busting your ass to knock down—glad I could help?

I was surprised at myself, but I was happy to see myself smiling normally. After the facepainting, we had Al walk us around the school to check out the other classes. Just like in Al's class, the other classes continued to surprise me. If I didn't know that this was a school festival, I never would have guessed that the booths were made and managed by students. While we walked past the gymnasium, I noticed a poster for a play. It looked like a romance one, kinda similar to Romeo And Juliet. "You wanna watch that?" White asked as he peeked from behind me. "Oh, this is only a few minutes from now. Do you wanna just wait for it inside? Do we need tickets for this?"

For this reason, I decided to move all then into strange short stories, that is already a storybook of different themes. The w******l policy does not allow me to remove or delete those books, so they will remain there but as a "paused" book. You can find only the introduction of those books on w******l and no else more. But there you can find some covers I made for those stories and that I can not upload here. The stories of a single chapter will continue to be published, of course. Each volume of Strange short stories will have 3 medium-sized stories and about 10 short stories.

“I think so. Is there one of those two stories that I pitched that you would like to see me do first?” “Absolutely.” He shook his mouse, waking his computer up. “Since the municipal park has only been open for a few days, I think you should do that one second. Give the park a chance to get its feet under it. Do your research on the different places in the city that the locals would want to go and run with that one first.” “What’s my deadline for the hidden city story?”
