I was too afraid to get too close. Then, a voice I recognized drifted over—it was Quentin's buddy, Felix Jefferson. "The Grant women were a piece of cake to fool, huh?" he taunted. "I thought we'd get some pushback, but everything went down smoothly. But then again, you nailed the acting. I bet Winnie still thinks you're just some regular office worker who saved up forever for those three cruise tickets!" Felix cracked up. His words made me dig my nails into my palms. The pain felt like a sharp stab to my heart. Then I heard Quentin's voice.

As the designer, I had to stay beside them to explain my idea. The exhibition ended an hour later. Just as I was leaving, Sophia spoke. "Andy, could I please have some coffee with your employee?" Andy cast me a meaningful look. "Of course." In the cafe right across from my workplace, Sophia went straight to the point. Her tone dripped with sarcasm. "I heard you stepped on silver powder yesterday. How foolish. You'll only bring Ethan trouble." I subconsciously held onto a corner of my shirt. "Thanks for the concern. I'm fine now."

I tried to charge in, but Jonathan stood in the doorway and said with a grin, "Penelope just has an irregular period. It's common for women. Don't overreact, Edward." Before I could speak, sharp cramps shot through my stomach. I collapsed to my knees, frothing at the mouth. Penelope's friends laughed and held up their phones to record my humiliation. "So, that's why you walked away from me. It was all Melanie's doing!" He grabbed me, his voice desperate as he tried to clear things up. "It's all lies. Melanie got herself pregnant from fooling around overseas, and she pleaded with me to cover for her. That marriage certificate is a fake. I could never marry anyone else!" Henry locked eyes with me, his voice earnest. "I'll own up to it. I did some stupid things to help an old friend, and Wren gave me a good talking-to. “Officers, my wife claims Maisie transferred her pregnancy symptoms to her, but listen carefully, she admitted that she was jealous.” Then came my own voice in the recording, “Fine! Yes, I’m faking it!” The officers’ faces hardened instantly, and they cuffed me on the spot. “Throwing a jealous tantrum to this degree? This is absolutely irrational,” one of them scolded. I struggled, desperate to explain, but then I caught sight of Maisie in the corner, smiling as she bit into a mango. The allergic reaction hit me instantly. It felt like invisible hands clamped around my throat, choking me. My limbs convulsed, my vision went black, and I clawed for help.

That was when Sunny came up to me, whispering into my ear, "Here comes the prank!" Even as my mind went blank, he pulled out a remote and pressed a button, and everyone's heads jerked around as a recording of Andy's voice boomed. "I feel like I could get sick everytime I see Jane's face! She's actually eating leftovers out of a chute!" "I wouldn't even date her, if I didn't have to get Mandy's favorite crystal shoes with this prank." "Someone like her is fated to be a garbage picker. And she wants to marry me? Dream on!"

My heart sank as I realized he was behind the prank. I tried to make my way towards him, but the smoke was too thick. I coughed and covered my mouth, trying to push through the crowd. The Alpha's voice boomed through the hall, trying to restore order, but it was too late. The coronation was ruined, and the pack was in chaos. As the smoke began to clear, I was still trying to process what had just happened. The triplets were nowhere to be seen, and I was left standing alone, coughing and trying to cover my mouth.
