Or just better at pretending. I grabbed my small bag, slipping my phone inside along with some documents I’d need for the job. My hands moved on autopilot, but my mind was a whirlwind of doubts and hopes. This job was my chance to rebuild, to prove to myself that I could stand on my own after months, days of leaning on someone who eventually let me fall. I was about to step out the door when a quiet voice in my heart reminded me—I needed to pray before going.

Ariel's POV: I got dressed and went to the office. This time there were no whispers, no side eyes, no funny talks behind my back. Every staff member was busy with their own work. The clacking sound of keyboards and the ringing of telephones filled the air, and I sighed in relief. When I reached my small office, I sat down, closed my eyes, and said a quick prayer. God has been faithful to me. Even in the middle of this confusing life, He has kept me. For that, I am super grateful.

Thank you for the gift of life, for the blessings you've bestowed upon me, and for the opportunities ahead. Guide me as I go to work today. Grant me wisdom, focus, and productivity. Help me to make a positive impact on those around me, and to be a source of joy and inspiration.Protect me from harm, and keep me safe in your loving care. She is glad, she got to the office before her annoying boss, despite her lateness. She flicks her hand bag to the desk as she says her usual short prayers before any other work routine. Patting her head gently, she pulls the seat to her ass. "Mmmmm. WHuuuu," she let out her breathe when she perceives the freshly brewed coffee, about to take a sip, her phone beeps.

Well, because I like my life. I finish taking a shower and I'm about getting dressed when Amanda finishes with her prayer session. A sigh of relief escapes my mouth as I thank God. I just don't get why people pray for as long as forever and on top of that, they pray loudly. Like, didn't you read the part that said close your door and pray silently because God who also sees in secret can hear you and will reward you?

It was a long wait for Justice. His alarm clock struck 5a.m and started ringing. He was awakened by the sound of it, he ran straight to the convenience to ease himself. When he was through with that, he went back to the room, knelt down in front of his bed and made a short prayer. He was full of anxiety as to what would happen at work today. He didn’t know what to expect. ‘What does today hold for me?’ He asked. He hurried down to the bathroom and had a cold bath. Over the years, he had grown so fond of having cold water bath. He believed it energizes him and creates a kind of mental alertness. He thought that today could be the day that would change his story.

Seconds pass, and I glance at the wall clock, which reads six-thirty. Before I can go freshen up, I kneel on the bed and offer a prayer, asking God to bless our day and make us capable of recognizing any malice within us, helping us change our ways. I head downstairs, already dressed for work, feeling better after a warm shower. Wetting my head always seems to help. My sister is sitting at the breakfast table, looking like a zombie. I think Simon is still asleep. "Are you okay?"

Then I rolled off the bed and went on my knees by the side of the bed as my early morning routine demanded. "Dear lord, it's me again. Thank you for waking me and my family this morning, thank you for another shot at improving our lives, this day look upon us and give us our daily bread, amid help those who can't help themselves during this tough times of war. We went to our seats and arranged our food. "Form a circle," Sia said and we lifted our chairs to form a circle. "Let's pray before eating" He added.
