In my dream, I dreamed that I was wearing that sexy bathing suit, and I felt thirsty and horny. And it wasn’t my husband I was longing for.

Then, she playfully poked my lower region, which reacted immediately. However, I couldn't do anything since Vicky was pregnant. Thus, I tapped her nose and headed to the bathroom for a cold shower. When I came out, Vicky was scrolling on her phone while muttering about all the precautions we needed to start taking. I figured we should focus on the basics first, so I suggested we visit the hospital to check how far along she was and to make sure the baby was healthy. Vicky agreed after hearing my words. She curled up against me and joked about how pregnancy was already making her feel scatterbrained.

They would gain 20 pounds in less than three months of pregnancy and face a lot of problems later. Aside from being a little anemic, Jessamine's results were all in the normal range. She was practically the ideal pregnant woman Melissa had hoped for.

Yet the baby I carried was not truly mine, but his and Natasha's. I suffered through everything, and now they were planning to take my life as well. "Mr. Hunt, here's this month's medication. If she keeps taking it, the baby will absorb nutrients faster and grow stronger. "But if it gets too big, she won't be able to deliver naturally. She'll need a C-section." Through the door, I listened in shock as my husband calmly discussed how to risk my life. My face went pale, and my nails dug hard into the railing along the hospital corridor. A storm of pain and bitterness churned inside me.

“But maybe we’re learning how to carry it differently.” Lena nodded. “Maybe we are.” They walked in silence for a while, letting the city surround them. Then Lena stopped, drawing Adrien’s attention. “Look,” she said, pointing to a small group gathered in a nearby park—a prenatal yoga session. Mothers and fathers, some laughing, some carefully following the instructor’s movements, babies on the way visible in gentle curves of bellies and careful steps. Adrien watched, curiosity mixed with a hint of awkwardness. “We’re… joining them?”

Pregnant. Angry. And scared shitless.
