Straight Until Him
“So, you came home, dropped a bomb on me, and do not even know what the business is?”
“Exactly.”
“You are unbelievable.”
He laughs. “You love it.”
“Unfortunately.”
We sit in silence for a bit, the city lights glowing through the window.
Then I say, “Okay, say we do this. What is the point? Money? Power?”
He shakes his head. “Freedom. Something clean.
“Freedom does not come cheap,” I remind him.
“I know. That is why I want you.”
I raise an eyebrow. “To fund it or to manage it?”
