It was her favorite place to be because here she could forget her past, all the loud noises of the outer world, and all the problems that awaited her outside of those four walls. Her nose is high, and her lips are red and full. She is the lovely princess of Elhasa Kingdom. She is watching the dancers gracefully dance in the middle. Their bodies are vigorously swaying with the accompaniment of the music instruments played by the musicians that her father, the king, hired for her twenty-first birthday, which will be happening only an hour away from now. “Your Highness.” A deep male voice called behind her. I loosely hold her hand before her, expecting her to pull away but she doesn’t. “Alpha Blackwood, I’m Princess Adelaide, but please, call me Adelaide,” her voice clipped but I can see the small amusement burning in her eyes. “Please call me Wade,” Right, we’re getting somewhere. I move back to my sofa. I don’t want to let go of her hand, it sends tingles down my arm. But I don’t want to scare her, she needs to be in control of this.

Audrey blinks in confusion. She wants to ask the maid what she was doing here but the maid turns and walks out the door. She nods and gets out of bed, following the maid out of the room and down a hallway. As they walk, Audrey takes in her surroundings. The palace is grand and opulent, with gold and marble accents everywhere. She can't help but feel out of place in her simple clothes and messy hair.
