Pucking Forbidden Claim
Kade shouts, whipping around after me.
“Should’ve been faster,” I taunt, flicking the puck forward.
Kade charges, catching up too fast, but I dodge, sliding past two kids who are scrambling to keep up.
“God, you’re such a prick!” Kade huffs as he swings wide, trying to cut me off.
“Yeah, yeah, and yet,” I flick my stick out, sending the puck toward the net, “still winning.”
It hits the post. Barely misses.
Kade laughs, full, open, genuine. “Ohhh, that’s tragic.”
