I let out a groan in pain as he punches me square in the jaw but I return the favour, punching him on his nose and I hear a satisfying crack. “You think you can reveal all the damn things you’ve done and expect me bit to do anything about it?!” I yell and strike another punch.

My face leaned close, my voice low and venomous, the kind of whisper that Mafia men carried to the grave. “I won’t kill you now,” I murmured, my grip iron around his neck. “Not yet. His body crumpled with a heavy thud that echoed through the room, the sound of a man’s pride hitting the floor harder than his bones ever could.
