she asked, just to be sure, and Marcus let out a relieved breath and nodded.
"Only two months," he confirmed. What Chloe didn't know was that two months, to Marcus, meant a lifetime living off her, for as long as he could stretch it. Chip in—that wasn't a word he'd ever take accountability for.
"See you after the game," he said, and Chloe smiled. She already had her outfit picked out, as always, bright and eye-hurting, more attention-grabbing than the cheer squad's uniforms. She smiled and went ahead to wish her boyfriend more scores for the upcoming game, not forgetting to tag Marcus, and to make Chloe even happier, Marcus replied to the post with one of his own.
