He lifted his hand, sweeping a strand of hair into place behind her ear. His fingers grazed against her skin, a feather but not. His voice dropped. "I don't deserve you."
"You deserve love, Adrian. Everyone does."
He leaned in at an angle, defying gravity. And then, their foreheads touched.
No kiss yet. Just the touch of heat, of souls extending.
"I don't know how to love someone anymore," he breathed.
Elara whispered back, “Then we’ll start with this. Just being.”
